We have a new friend. He or she lives in our house. The husby isnt happy about it. Our little one named it. Welcome to the homestead, Galaxy!

3/15/2026 it actually snowed her on the homestead. It was big fat flakes. It didn't last very long but was fun to see.
My two barn flocks were hanging out together in the pen - the wond has been blowing so hard. Most of them were just sitting in. The grass. They have now retired to the barn as the wind is extremely cold.
I am spending today canning salsa.

Oh my goodness! It is time to show you our chickens! We have 3 roosters- 3 too many. The roosters are with 3 chickens that we tried to put in the girl coop. They flew back and are still with the boys. I have decided, they know they can make it back. They give us plenty of eggs. We even sell eggs. Right now we are out of eggs. But it wont take long!

How is it that you have boiled eggs on hand to eat and no one eats them? As soon as they turn into deviled eggs, they are gone by the end of the day. That, my friends is how I get rid of a dozen chicken eggs quickly. 😆

I hate this part. I despise this part, where they have to go.

One of our oldest hens, Elvis, was found passed on this afternoon in the coop. She was such a personality.
