💨🏢 Our tech noticed this on a neighboring tower during his service visit. Worth a photo because it shows the public health risks of poor cooling tower maintenance. Those are the drift eliminators on a cross flow tower packed with scale and debris. When they foul, more drift leaves the tower, and drift is what carries bacteria into the air.

Certification moves to twice yearly instead of annual, remediation windows tighten once a violation is found, and fines increase across the board, exceeding $12,000 dollars when a violation contributes to a death or serious injury.

Covered buildings include healthcare facilities, high-rises with central hot water, hotels, and any building with a water feature. With the September 10 plan deadline about six weeks out, it is worth knowing where your building stands.
