Pear season is in full swing, and some of our favorites are looking especially good right now. 🍐

From the sweet, juicy bite of California Bartlett pears to the crisp texture and honey-like flavor of Bosc pears, there’s a pear for every display, recipe, and menu. And adding a pop of color to the mix are beautiful Red Pears, bringing both eye appeal and great eating quality.

Sweetness isn’t just something you taste—it’s something you can measure! 🍓🍊

Brix Level is a measurement of the natural sugars found in fruits and vegetables. A higher Brix reading generally means a sweeter, more flavorful product, making it an important tool for growers, shippers, and produce distributors when evaluating quality.

While Brix isn’t the only indicator of great produce, it’s one of the many ways the industry helps ensure fresh, delicious fruits and vegetables make it from the field to your table.

🍇 Fun fact: Brix is commonly measured in grapes, citrus, melons, berries, mangos, and many other fruits to help determine the ideal time to harvest.
