Illinois Beverage Association

Illinois Beverage Association The Illinois Beverage Association is a coalition of a wide-variety of businesses, restaurants, and industry and retail establishments throughout Illinois.

Together, we create a strong, collective voice to bring about change. The Illinois Beverage Association (IBA) represents the bottlers, distributors and employees of the soft drink industry in our state. Within the context of the public interest, we seek to protect and to advance the interests of the industry responsibly. We employ thousands of individuals, contribute millions of dollars to local S

tate and Federal taxes and make significant charitable contributions. Additionally, we partner with local schools to provide additional funding for services and equipment they would not otherwise have. Our products include bottled waters, teas, juices and carbonated and non-carbonated soft drinks. We comply with all State and Federal laws, maintain a very active recycling effort and participate in many activities to make Illinois a better place to work, to invest and to enjoy a healthy and prosperous life for everyone.

Wishing everyone a and joyous #2023.

Earlier this week, IRMA hosted its annual Business Day at the Capitol in partnership with the Illinois Manufacturers' Association. Hundreds of business leaders from across the state joined us for this year’s virtual event to hear from our four legislative leaders and participated in morning breakout sessions discussing important issues surrounding property tax legislation and energy reform. In this week’s “Straight from the Source” video IRMA President & CEO Rob Karr shares some highlights of this year’s virtual event.

IRMA would like to thank Senate President Don Harmon, House Speaker Emanuel "Chris" Welch, Senate Republican Leader Dan McConchie and House Minority Leader Jim Durkin for sharing your time and perspective with our members. Thank you also to NPR reporter Hannah Meisel for conducting the interviews, and Tim Klasinski for photography and video services.

These events wouldn’t be possible without the support from our co-hosts: McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Altria Group, Molson Coors, Illinois Beverage Association, PepsiCo, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois and Diageo - and sponsors: Walgreens, Kroger, The Home Depot, Casey's General Stores, Schnucks, 7-11 Seven Eleven, Hy-Vee, Jewel-Osco, Platt Hill Nursery, Camelot Illinois, AT&T, ComEd and the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS).

On behalf of my business , I want to say , 👏 & Illinois Beverage Association (Contact Person) Dave Smolensky for signing up as a new Chamber of Commerce on March 3, 2021. (Website) https://illinoisbeverage.org
The Coca-Cola Company is responding to the need for PPE to support our front line healthcare workers and first responders across the nation by sourcing plastic sheeting to be converted into plastic face shields.

Earlier this month, Heartland Coca-Cola in Springfield delivered 32,500 face shields to the State of Illinois Emergency Management Agency’s State Fair warehouse, while Great Lakes Coca-Cola Bottling delivered 32,500 face shields to the City of Chicago PPE staging facility, the United Center. Our friends at the Illinois Beverage Association captured the delivery of the face shields to IEMA at the State Fairgrounds.

Again, we say thank you to our manufacturing community for continued efforts to step in during this pandemic!
A special thank you to the Illinois Beverage Association, Great Lakes Coca-Cola and to all who donated water.

Why not provide a handy voters guide on a card at every distribution point? Plenty of us are fed up already with this tax.
tell me how I can help
The best way to voice your protest on these taxes is to buy it elsewhere or DO NOT BUY IT at all ! Call your rep every week and bombard the phones for months on end . Tell them to their face and do not back down they work for you!
I believe this beverage tax is another example of the inability of the current Cook County assembly to effectively manage the revenue it currently presides over. I recall not so long ago when Todd Stroger implemented a .5 tax and the people who really sought to remove him from office campaigned on how burdensome his proposed tax would be. Now I don't know a great deal about how governing a county actually works however I would think it works like managing a budget for a household or a business with some different considerations but it should be clear that adding a tax and raising the price of a staple product of working people would be burdensome. Here's a novel idea...care more about the people you serve and less about taking the easy way out of the mess you've made.
