🦃🥛 Important Thanksgiving Update – Thursday Fort Mill Milk Drop Only

Hey everyone! We wanted to give you a quick heads-up about a schedule change for the Thursday Fort Mill milk drop during Thanksgiving week.

🚚 The normal Thursday drop will be moved to Wednesday (one day prior)!

📍 Location: Red Rocket Fireworks (I-77, Exit #90)
📅 Date & Time: Wednesday, November 26 at 11:00 AM

🛒 Don’t forget to place your orders online as usual so we can have everything ready for pickup on Wednesday.

Sounds from the farm this Friday.
Morning chores are just about wrapped up, and the milking herd is settling into their mid-morning feeding of baylage. This ryegrass we grew in the spring and saved for winter.

You might notice a few girls with zero table manners, happily chewing with feed hanging out of their mouths. But honestly, there’s something so relaxing and rewarding about watching them enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but Milky Way fans are already getting into the Christmas spirit 🎄— and we don’t blame you! Everyone’s been asking when our favorite seasonal flavors will return, so here’s the inside scoop:

🎅 Santa’s Chase (Egg Nog) – Our first batch will be made on November 19, with the goal of having all retail partners stocked in time for Thanksgiving.

🍪 Holly’s Kiss (Cookies & Cream) – Our award-winning holiday favorite returns on November 26.

We’ll be rotating production of these festive flavors each week through January 1, so you can enjoy the taste of the holidays all season long.

Stay merry, and don’t forget to grab your pints before they disappear for another year!

The milkmen are locked and loaded with milk and beef! 🥛🥩

One of the most unique parts of selling the food we produce ourselves is getting to see our customers and retail partners face to face every week. We know their stories, and they know ours. They ask questions, and we get to share knowledge, dairy knowledge that spans 100 years and 4 generations.

History isn’t lost here. It’s alive and shared in every delivery, every conversation, and every glass of milk.

🍓🥛 This Week’s Seasonal Flavor: Moo-Berry!
This delicious strawberry cream-line milk tastes like fresh berries and sweet cream, the perfect treat for any time of day. We use natural beet powder to give it that beautiful pink color!
As always, our low-temp vat pasteurized cream-line milks are made in small batches for the best quality. Because they’re never homogenized, the cream rises to the top — just the way milk should be! Plus, all our flavored milks are gluten- and nut-allergen-free. ❤️

You might have noticed our girls were some accessories. We thought you might be interested in the what and why.

Collar- all adult cows wear one. This collar is actually an activity monitor. It's much like a fit bit and helps keep track normal and abnormal behaviors on each individual cow.

Blue tag- it has a 4 digit number is her identity and it also tells us information instantly. 1437 pictured here was born in 2014 and was the 37th calf born that year. So just looking at her number we know she is approximately 11+ years old. Holly happens to be the oldest cow in the herd and she has met many fans over the years as she goes to many off farm community events.

Small white circle- Look close on the right side, it is beside the blue ID tag. See it? This small circle is and RFID (radio frequency identification) tag and it contains a 14 digit number which is her USA national ID (similar to your SS #). The RFID is the heart of our robotic milking system as the robot uses this ID to indentify each cow when milking them.

At Milky Way, we believe the health of our herd is the foundation of our All A2 Raw Milk. Each year, we work with our veterinarian to test every cow for TB (tuberculosis), BANGS (brucellosis), Johne’s disease, and BLV (bovine leukemia virus).

This voluntary testing takes time, effort, and resources—collecting both f***l and blood samples—but it’s an essential part of our commitment to herd health and milk safety and quality.

We’re proud to share that our herd tested negative again for all four diseases! That means our milk comes from cows that are free from TB, BANGS, Johne’s, and BLV.

To keep it that way, we maintain strong biosecurity protocols on our farm:
* Closed herd: All our cows are born and raised right here—no outside animals are brought in.
* Controlled access: Only employees have access to the barns, keeping foot traffic to a minimum.
* Clean practices: Tools and equipment are cleaned and disinfected daily to maintain a healthy environment.

Yesterday, we took our Jersey heifer calf, named Esperanza (it means hope) to our church’s Fall Festival. Both kids and adults loved petting and loving on her! They learned that, as a Jersey dairy cow, she’ll grow up to provide delicious and nutritious milk one day and she can’t bite! For some, it was their first time touching a cow. The children also picked up dairy activity books provided by The Dairy Alliance in place of candy.
