👻🦬🎃
Legend has it that some regions, particularly the plains where bison once roamed in vast herds, have stories of ghostly bison appearing at night.

In Native American folklore, bison are often seen as spiritual creatures that carry ancestral wisdom and the spirit of the land, making them powerful symbols in legends.

These “ghost bison” are sometimes described as ethereal, almost transparent figures that roam under the moonlight, symbolizing the spirits of bison killed during the mass slaughters of the 19th century.

These spectral bison are thought to haunt areas with historical significance to the bison population, like Yellowstone National Park and certain plains in the Midwest.

According to some stories, these ghostly herds continue to wander the plains, reminding people of the impact humans have had on the bison’s ecosystem and symbolizing resilience and survival in the face of adversity. These tales add an eerie, supernatural element to the cultural importance of bison across North America.
