Big congratulations to Oreo!

Oreo brought home Best in Show at the NJ State 4-H Rabbit Show! We couldn’t be prouder of this little rabbit and all the hard work that Bentley put into getting him there.

One of the best things about 4-H is that it gives kids the opportunity to learn by doing, build confidence, take responsibility, and be part of an amazing community. We’re so grateful for all the experiences and friendships 4-H has given our family!

Goats love to help… especially when absolutely no goat help is required.

Lucy was very committed to supervising the fence project. Whether she was actually helpful is up for debate.

After making tomato sauce, I take all the extra bits that come out of the food mill, dehydrate them, and grind them into tomato powder.

Basically, tomato powder made from the parts most people throw away! Nothing goes to waste around here.

Goats apparently have decided the lawn tractor is the newest piece of playgroung equipment. They’re always looking for the highest and most interesting place to hang out!

🐔 Ever wondered what it actually takes to process a chicken?

Join us at Haxton Homestead for a hands-on Chicken Processing Class and learn the process from start to finish. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in raising their own meat, becoming more self-sufficient, or just wanting to learn where their food comes from.

You’ll get hands-on experience and learn the basics of humane processing, plucking, eviscerating, chilling, and preparing a chicken for the freezer.

In case you were wondering… this is what 46 lbs of tomatoes looks like. And all these tomatoes will only make about 9 quarts of sauce.

Round one of tomato sauce is officially underway!
There’s nothing quite like turning a huge garden harvest into something we’ll be enjoying all winter long. ❤️🍅

Need a new sound to wake up your kids? 😂🐓

Forget the alarm clock… we’ve got a rooster! 😂

No snooze button. No batteries. Just one very enthusiastic alarm clock who apparently has A LOT to say. 🤣

Would you use this to wake your kids up every morning? 👀👇
