When your last baby goes off to preK for the first time, you deal with your sadness by canning. 13 jars of salsa. Special thanks to my parents for coming to help. Love my dad’s creative solution to the onions making him cry.

Meet Flash, our resident tomato connoisseur!

We’ve been giving the goats some of our extra tomatoes in their feed pans, and Flash has clearly decided they are his new favorite treat.

The red lips are proof that he takes his tomato tasting very seriously!

When the garden starts producing faster than you can keep up… 😂🌱🍅🥒🫑

This is what harvest time looks like around here! Fresh vegetables covering the counters, tables, baskets, and pretty much anywhere else we can put them. 😂

But honestly, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. ❤️ We’ll eat some, preserve some, share some, and make sure the animals get their share too.

A good harvest is a LOT of work—but it’s the kind of work I’m grateful for. 🌱❤️

This year I decided to give the Sheep Rodeo a try at the Hunterdon County 4-H Fair… in the adult category!

And somehow I managed to come in 2nd place!

I’m so used to watching the kids get their ribbons, so it was pretty cool to finally come home with some of my own! 😂

The results are in!

We’re pretty excited about our first year entering our harvests and homemade goodies in the fair! 🎉

Plum tomatoes — 2nd Place
Sourdough bread — 2nd Place
Cherry tomatoes — 3rd Place
Garlic — 3rd Place

Not bad for our first year! We’re so proud of what we grew, baked, and brought to the fair.

Here’s to learning, growing, and hopefully bringing home a few more ribbons next year!

Wendy the cow is getting ready for show day this morning. She got an early morning walk to get some fresh grass. Now she is washed, brushed and waiting patiently. Show starts at noon at the Hunterdon County Fair. Come check out all the hard work the kids put into their animals.
