Fresh from the garden…
This was the last of our Long Island Cheese Pumpkin that we grew over the summer.
It was picked in early October before the first freeze.
It’s January.
It has been sitting on my counter since then.
I cut it open and it was so fresh and ripe.
The smell was earthy and sweet and rich and warm.
This one squash will feed us at least 5 meals. Today I made pumpkin streusel muffins and froze the remaining puree in 16oz bags for another day.
We still have 4 smaller Delicata and honeynut squash which we will eat throughout the remainder of New Englands hard, cold winter.

We let the pigs and sheep in to the garden about 2 weeks ago. They cleaned it out fast!
Then we added 20ish yards of homegrown compost and tilled it in.
🧄 300+ cloves of garlic planted for next years crop!
After the first freeze, we will mulch to help prevent heaves. 🧄

A few things in our weekly CSA delivery for this week!

We have turkeys!!! 🦃

They range from 10-20lbs and we have about 20 available. These will go fast.
Details:
Cost is $5.50/lb.
They are frozen as of tonight and will remain in our deep freezer until pick up.
Pick up is at the farm on the weekend before Thanksgiving.
A $20 non refundable deposit is required to hold your bird. This can be done via Venmo or check.

If you’d like to reserve your holiday turkey, please send an email to [email protected] and let me know your size preference and how you’d prefer to send your deposit.
Sizes are held on first come, first serve basis. If your preference is not available I’ll let you know the next closest available.
