One of our frequently asked questions is: Do you provide bartenders? The answer is yes! 🥂

As a general rule, we recommend one bartender for every 75 guests. That number can shift depending on your bar setup and how it's being used — a simple beer and wine bar needs fewer bartenders per guest than a full-service bar pouring multiple liquors and mixers.

⭐ Please note: we do not provide alcohol. Depending on your venue, you may need a mixed beverage special event ABC license. A one-day permit can be purchased online at www.abc.state.va.us.

Meet Mike Benton! ✨

Mike is the executive chef here at The Catering Place and the backbone of our company. He has been with us for 9 amazing years. He grew up in Portsmouth, VA and has been in the culinary industry for 20+ years. He's worked in many different types of restaurants, from fast casual to fine dining to high-volume and catering.

Since landing his first executive chef job at 25, his skills have evolved over the years from learning new techniques and different cuisines while working for many different chefs.
His passion in life is to help teach and guide the people around him. Mike "loves working with the team and fellow vendors to make sure the client's event goes flawlessly and we give them a lasting memory of a wonderful day."

⭐ Favorite TCP Memory: "It was when I got to create the entire menu for a private bourbon dinner and was able to execute it with my full creativity."
⭐ Outside of TCP: "I enjoy spending as much time as I can with my wonderful wife Stephanie and my daughter Autumn. They are my everything. I would not be the man I am today without them. They are my rock!"
