Sneak peak at one of our working compost piles… 👀 This is the all purpose pile: soiled goat bedding, son rabbit manure, grass clippings, offcasts from the garden, bones and other goods leftover from butchering. This healthy compost is now absolutely loaded with worms! I’ll have to take a thermometer with me next time I dig in it, but it’s HOT. Easily 110*, steamy hot.

Baby Hollands! This Litter is out of Pistachio and S’mores. Ready to go October 22nd, taking reservations now. The first two are bucks and the last four are does. One doe is retained, one is pending reservation, and the other two I am waiting to hear from someone before they are available, so currently only waitlist for does. Babies from this litter are chocolate carriers as S’mores is a chocolate harli VM. Please refer to the album “breeders in our rabbitry” to see pictures of the parents.

We had such a blast at the BLUE HILL FAIR as always, but this was our first fully emerged week there! To say we’re exhausted is an understatement… more info to come on our placings for goats, veggies, flowers and canned goods after a full night sleep. 😴

This morning was my last “peaceful” morning to enjoy before our first ever full fair week! It was slow and quiet, which I’m sure I will crave this week. But it also started with me finding my biggest dahlia bloom (that I planned to enter in the cut flowers at the fair) knocked over with a broken stem and a big mouthful of petals missing… the deer visited last night and found my new garden location, they absolutely demolished the pole bean teepee! Thankfully those seem to be the only two things they bothered… this afternoon has been frantic trying to clean and prep things for the fair. I have absolutely nothing pulled together for our “display” area where our goats will be set up, so if you have ideas please send them my way! Yesterday was the one year anniversary of my Mother’s death, so my nerves are shot and my brain is fried… If you see me this week, bare with me, I’m trying to keep it together.

Big day of show prep done! 😮‍💨😴 Now most of our girls are ready to go to the Blue Hill Fair next week. We’ll be showing Sunday the 6th first thing in the morning for any friends/family that want to come watch our goats! 😊
