A couple of the black bull calves and a brindle. All sired by Silver Slugger. They are looking good considering how dry things have gotten.

Could use some rain for sure, but the calves are really growing and the cows are fat. Not much green left in the grass, but these Beefmaster cattle just get better as conditions get tougher.

The hills are getting a little less green every day, but the calves sure are growing. We will start weaning in October. They’ll be getting pretty big by then. Hopefully we can cool down and get some moisture soon.

How important is udder quality on your operation? This is a pasture full of our two year olds with their first calves and as you can see they all have excellent udders. We strive to produce females with excellent udders, because when the weather is less than ideal that calf needs to get up and nurse as quickly as possible. So when you are buying a bull from our program you can buy with confidence knowing he comes from a female with a great udder. Always know what the udder is like on the Dam of any bull your purchase as that is one thing that is ver heritable.
