I have a little over 30 lbs of okra available and not quite a bushel of pinkeye purple hull peas($40) available today… $3.50 per pound on okra

It’s been a month since this fire hydrant ruined my field… 500-700,000 gallons at full force…
It was turned on at 2 am and everyone went home and to bed…
I found it at 6 am on a Sunday morning and it took 2+ hours to get it turned off…
I had to call 911 to get help…
It washed tomatoes, that were over 100 yards away from the hydrant, off the vine and 300 yards down the hill all the way to the pond…
My tomato plants all died within 9 days. 1,600 plants. They can’t survive in standing water…
All while the news is full of contamination at farms
For the last month I have had to listen to an insurance adjuster for the county diminish me and my business and somehow claim no damages were done…
I don’t deserve this. I won’t let them steal my joy. I do love what I do. I’m doing my best to continue forward and plant fall crops.
We will try and open a Saturday soon, although produce will be limited for several weeks…
I do appreciate the help and advice I have received from several county officials. I hope they will continue to help settle this matter and move forward. Thanks everyone I am trying my best to get everything planted back asap

We sure miss you all! We hope to see you all again as soon as possible.
I am trying to get stuff planted as quickly as I can. I still have work to do to finish up Troy garden and fix the river channel created through the middle of it. We’re doing our best to look forward…
