My bigger girls got their wings clipped the other day after repeatedly jumping out of the fence while we were away on vacation… I think she missed mom and dad. 🐓🐔

How about doing something we have NEVER done? Here’s a July 4th gift from me to one lucky chicken keeper! Entries end July 4th @ 6pm EST.

My favorite chicken breeds are ✨silkies✨ followed by Ermine Ameraucanas, then followed by Marans. An interesting story about my Marans: I have tried for years to have a dark egg line of BCM. A couple years ago I came very close but one small mistake of forgetting to latch the coop door cost me all of them in a single night. 😭 That’s the first time I ever bawled over chickens. The setbacks have been immense. But dedication prevails. I also had to cull out a bunch of marans early on from other lines because the birds were either outright aggressive or ridiculously flighty. I am happy to say that this line of Marans are extremely docile, friendly, and a joy to live with. The hens follow me around the yard and come running when they think I have snacks. ❤️

My orphaned baby 🥹🫠🧡🖤🤎 I love you but you are clingy. The last baby inside for the season. A bitter sweet feeling. But I can’t wait to go camping and doing that with grow outs are so hard. 😵‍💫🥴

My beautiful babies have made their debut outside. 🤎🤍🩶🖤🐥 I can’t believe they are 8 weeks old 🥲 hatching them have been one of the most fulfilling things I’ve done.

Unsure if this is a boy or girl 😅 six months old and hasn’t crowed yet. But looks like a boy and walks like a boy. Whatever it is it’s a stunna. 😊🥵🐓 glad it got well from its upper respiratory infection. 😵‍💫 that was a long 2 months.
