They’re for sure getting the kinks worked out of their runs… excited to see how they hold up at barrel races this winter!

Trainer Thursdays- since we’ve had a big surge of page followers I thought it would be cool to feature one of our 4 legged trainers each week on the page!

Now for the little ones turn- Sugar. Sugar’s coat color is called Sorrel, it may be plain and common to some but it’s personally my favorite. A timeless classic that’ll never go out of style. Sugar is a miniature horse. Fun fact- Miniature horses have the same size teeth and eyes as big horses even through they are a fraction of the size! Sugar has had 2 foals in the past and is a wonderful mom.

Sugar loves ❤️ to get her mane braided, to sneak out of open gates when she’s not supposed to, and to go fast with the pony cart
Sugar dislikes 👎 not being the center of attention, sharing her food, and worst of all, baths- nope!🙅‍♀️

“Shugie Boog” (her nickname) is 34”, trained to both ride and pull a cart. My daughter (Codi) has shown Sugar at the MoCo fair since she was 5years old, outside of her show career Sugar can offer something for both adults and kids! She can easily carry her weight in the pony cart, and also can be ridden by small children.

Trainer Thursdays- since we’ve had a big surge of page followers I thought it would be cool to feature one of our 4 legged trainers each week on the page!

Now for my boy, Scout. Scout is a Gypsy Vanner/ Haflinger cross. He is a draft pony- think Clydesdale but compact. Scout has the most luxurious mane and tail, it’s a braiders dream. I personally think he looks like a real life Barbie horse.

Scout loves ❤️ to take things slow- he’s never in a hurry, a good trail ride, treats (any kind🤣), and to boss the other horses around in the pasture.

Scout dislikes 👎 his grazing muzzle, getting his faced washed, and having to get in a hurry-unless it’s dinner time.

“Scooter” (his nickname) is 13.3Hh, bred specifically to have a calm demeanor Scout lives up to it. He’s one the most easy going horses I have ever met. Nothing ever works him up. He is what we consider a beginner level horse, very good chance your first ride will be/was on Scout!

Who said barrel racing is just for the kids? These guys traded in their lawnmowers for true horsepower and proved that the dad strength translates surprisingly well to tight pocket turns.

Dad Barrel Racing Breakdown:

Technique: 10/10 lean, questionable stirrup length.

Motive: "Win or not we’re still getting Mexican on the way home"

Post-run diagnosis: 100% chance of needing an Icey Hot patch and an ibuprofen immediately after stepping off.

Up next is Ruby. Ruby’s coloring is called red roan, and like Rosie, even through Ruby has a solid coat pattern with no splotches she is a registered American Paint Horse. Her registered name is JUSTA DOUBLE TRIPLES. Horses tend to have quirky registered names due to honorific blending—combining elements of the sire's (father) and dam's (mother) names so breeders can instantly spot a horse's pedigree just by hearing its name.

Ruby loves ❤️ to go fast, banana cookies, to spook at silly things, and to rub her face allll over her rider at the end of a lesson- we dubbed it the Ruby Rubs.

Rosie dislikes 👎 being away from her friends, the rain, and the barn fans running (ik, she’s weird)

“Rhubarb” (her nickname) is 14.3Hh, and is bred and trained to be a ranch/barrel horse. And her thing is barrel racing! She loves to stretch her legs and go fast. Ruby has a sweet but quirky personality. She is what we consider an intermediate level horse, you’ll need to get a few rides in before you get a chance to ride Ruby!
