Hey Hey it's Saturday, and good morning everyone. Lots going on in Clarks Summit today, with all kinds of 'Clarks Summit goes pink" events all around town today, so come up and check it all out.
I have all kinds of delicious treats and snacks available today, including Spicy Tomato Sandwiches, salads, made with local greens from Endless Roots Farm, wraps, Lions mane mushroom tacos, pastries and more. I am opening a little later, at 11.30, because of the 5k and events happening on Davis St, but will be open til 3pm. My menu today is

Good Morning Wednesday. I am open today, from 11am to 2.30 pm, with all kinds of delicious food, goodies and treats.
A reminder, I will be closed tomorrow, as I have to head out of town for the day, for an appointment. If you usually pick up your Endless Roots Farm CSA order from Maximum Zen, check your emails and messages from them to find out your arrangements for your order.
I will be open again for regular business on Friday.

Spicy tomato sandwiches are back at Maximum Zen Bakery!! 🙌🏻

Hello Friday, good morning and hello.
Well yes, Spicy Tomato Sandwiches are finally back on the menu, in all their zesty glory. The Spicy tomato sandwich is basically a perfectly simple thing. Sliced glorious beefsteak tomato, from Endless Roots Farm, with delectable eggplant bacon, lettuce, spicy mayo, between two slices of toasted wholegrain bread, served with a side of slaw and veggies. This is an edible love letter from me to the absolutely amazing local produce available in this area, and the folk that grow and produce it.
I also have lots of other delicious, nutritious and tempting foods available today. I have a magnificent new batch of Mushroom Danish, and Spicy Lions Mane Mushroom Tacos , made with mushrooms from 3rd Kingdom Mushrooms, salads, wraps, burgers and more.
I will have Peach Coconut Cake, and cupcakes, plenty of drinks and juice.

Good Morning Thursday, and happy Endless Roots Farm CSA pick up day. What an absolute splendid wealth of incredible healthy, delicious food we have available to us here, all thanks to so much hard work, dedication and commitment to the incredible local farmers and growers who make this all happen. Once again huge shout outs to Endless Roots Farm, Jim's Farm Produce, Braces family orchards, 3rd Kingdom Mushrooms, and Wild Notion Farms who make it all come together for me to be able to share it with you. It makes me feel like an artist every day, with a canvas and paints of such incredible variety and quality.

We’ve been fielding a lot of questions about the cyclospora outbreak, so here’s our take:

We’ve seen a lot of food outbreaks over the last few years and they are coming from very large operations. To us, these outbreaks illustrate a broken food system and the many miles (and hands) your food passes through before it reaches your plate.

But honestly, food borne illness can happen anywhere. Which is why we have standard operating procedures in place to make sure our food is safe.

When you get food from us, here’s what you can count on:

👩🏻‍🌾 We have a crew of 8 people, that’s it! Your food is sown, planted, lovingly cared for, and harvested by one of eight people.

📝 Everyone has been trained in food safety procedures, which includes proper sanitizing, washing hands, and not working when sick (to name a few).

🚽 Everyone has access to a bathroom in our barn, must wash hands before returning to work, and our farms septic is far from our production area in a different field across the road.

💧 We test our water to make sure there are no contaminates.

🐓 If someone is working with the chickens-boots and clothes are changed and hands are washed before returning to the vegetable area.

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 We eat the food too! Everyone on the crew works diligently to make sure the food is safe for everyone to eat.

🥗Even with food safety protocols, we do recommend that you wash all vegetables before eating.

We’ve enjoyed these conversations because we can tell people exactly what we do and celebrate all the great things about eating local.

A few days late, but a very happy birthday to Lindsee and Michelle!

I’m not sure where we would be without these two amazing women. From chicken wrangling to deliveries and everything in between, they make this farm what it is.

We’re grateful for these two and excited celebrate another trip around the sun with them ❤️
