It is so windy today! As I was taking pictures of the asters I noticed two bumblebees holding onto the flowers for dear life! The next plant also had 1 bee clinging to a flower.

It was cold and rainy last night and where the bees were clinging to the flowers it had gotten shady.

I will be at the Farmers Market on Saturday!
REMEMBER THIS IS THE LAST OUTDOOR MARKET OF 2026. We move inside on October 17th at the Maple Street School.

I don't plan to put up my tent as it is supposed to be chilly and I will enjoy the warmth of the sun.

I will have samples of the lower sugar Apple Jelly with ginger and lower sugar Peach Hot Pepper Jelly.

I will have some of my farm cards in singles and boxed.

I am finally sleeping on the first floor! But I haven't figured out my bedding yet. I went from a full bed to a twin and when I was overheated I push the covers to the opposite side of the bed. But now in a twin bed, if I push the covers to the side they end up on the floor . But I will figure it out.....it just will take me another couple of nights sleeping on the twin bed to figure out what bedding works. the biggest issue is I sleep with a body pillow and some sheets and bedding just don't work well with the body pillow. We shall see!

I have made a batch of lower sugar Apple Jelly with just a little ground ginger and a batch of lower sugar Peach Hot Pepper Jelly.
The Apple jelly is not plain and the ginger adds to the variety of apples I used.
The Hot pepper jelly has just a bit of heat and will go well over cream cheese or goat cheese.

I will be sampling both products on Saturday!

The weather looks good and I hope to see everyone come down and support their hard working farmers and artisans.

We are outside 10/3 & 10/10, then we will move back inside to the Maple Street School!

REMINDER: I WILL BE AT THE MARKETS TILL THE END OF OCTOBER. Then I will be gone for most of the winter season as I am having my left hip replaced.

I am cooking up a variety of apples to make juice for Apple Jelly. The last of the peaches I bought will be cut up and cooked the same way for juice to make Peach Hot pepper jelly!

I know people want the Apple Jelly to be plain, so I cooked some crabapples as well to make the juice a bit more tart.

What about adding: some:Ginger or cardamom?

Let me know, I have enough apple juice to make a second batch of jelly that wouldn't be so plain.

Looks like tomorrow morning will be DRY! But I will put up the tent ,just in case.

I will have eggs and Good things in jars.....but remember I will only be at the market till the end of October. The market goes inside after Columbus/Indigenous day. I think we are supposed to be at the Maple street Elementary school. We should know soon if there will be a different venue....STAY TUNED!

I will be at the Farmers Market Tomorrow!!

As of today: I have canned over 280 jars since July of this year!

I am tired.....but still have some more to can before I have my hip replacement on November 10, 2026.
