The aftermath of Cory’s groom yesterday! This is probably about a quarter of his total winter coat. We had already brushed out about half of it in the field over the last couple weeks. I take my brushes out at feed time and give each of the dogs a short session after dinner when they start to blow coat. And while the bath and blow out will release a lot of coat, he still does have a fair amount to shed off, mostly around his neck and shoulders. That mane of his is very thick! The dogs will all get another good groom in the fall just before they start growing in the next winters worth of driveway cover 😆

Next up for bath time it’s the indomitable Cory the Maremma! This time I remembered to get a before pic and while I forgot a soapy one I did however get a nice “drowned rat” picture after his first rinse. Two deep shampoos, a super long blowout and more brushing than should ever have to be done and now we have a beautiful floofy polar bear!

We were very honored to be able to make a piggy loving birthday girl’s birthday wish come true! Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your special day!

Aj from Flighing Circus Farm brought her traveling piglets to our farm as an extra add on to a Birthday package today and everyone loved it ! Thank you AJ for spending your afternoon with us and bringing your cute piggies!

And so it begins!! Spring bath time has arrived and first up on the block is Merlin the Karakachan! I forgot to take a before picture and despite his protests I had to get a wet soapy pic because, I mean look at him 😆 I must say he certainly cleans up nice though! Just look at his gorgeous coat after two good deep shampoos, a thorough blow out and a quick brushing 👌👌He is such a handsome boy!

Go Wobbly Boy Go! Our floppy fella is back in the field today and doing so well, he’s in a small field seperate from the flock just to give him a chance to start getting a bit more strength back. I’m sure he’s going to get tired and I also don’t want him to get knocked around by the other lambs just yet. I have never seen or treated Meningeal Worm in an animal this young and I’m chuffed to bits to see him out and about. There were definitely a couple days where I really thought we were at the end of the road but I always say that if they are willing to fight then I will fight with them and this fella fought tooth and nail. What a little legend!
