Kind of eerie through the Nashoba brook area, kind of cool! Such a warm day! Some one had a great eye & spotted the barred owl in little desert. I’ve never looked low in the trees before.. it was right at eye level! Then a good ole happy birthday from the fun group of ladies 💕💕

I could have written this, because we live it …

🐎Copied/shared:

Do you ever wonder why some people have truly happy horses? Horses that never colic, crib, bang on stall doors, misbehave on the ground and under saddle? It's not all due to training. It’s because some horses are allowed to be horses.

The absolute very best thing you can do for every horse is let it live outside in a herd with constant forage. Let the horse decide with his group when to eat, when to nap under the shelter, when to drink and when to play. Let him learn his place in the herd. Horses do not need our 12x12 boxes. They need forage, water and air.

I hear almost daily from horse owners that they they are scared to let their horses outside, because they will hurt themselves. So you turn them out 1 hr a day, and yes, they go nuts. Meanwhile, 23 hours a day, their minds are going nuts. Then they act like fools while you are trying to groom and ride.

It's not the horse, it's the human routine.

Stop feeding your horses at 8 am and 5 pm on the dot everyday. Rigid routines create expectation anxiety in horses that leads to stress colic, ulcers, and bad behaviors. Feed one day at 8 and the next at 8:20. Mix it up a little, and stop making them live on a strict human schedule.

Also, quit feeding sweet feeds. Horses don't need the sugar. Feed them quality alfalfa and a few minerals. That's all they need. Let your horse be a horse: Living outside not only is mentally healthy, but keeps them in great physical health as well. Humans are too quick to cage things. For the love of horses, let them be horses.

They will repay you with their hearts, their health, and their good behavior.

Good morning friends! We hope y’all are safe & have weathered the storm! We haven’t had a chance to check the trail systems yet. We are imagining they aren’t too pretty. Our hope is that we can safely get out there at some point today to assess any possible damage. We are imagining the next couple days won’t look the same for our trail systems. Our normal paths in & out have been wet all year, so there may be some changes in routes until it drys out some.

Kind of a free for all day for the borders! While their stalls were cleaned & in between heavy rain. They got to roam the lower property & eat up as much grass that’s left before winter ♥️ So thankful we have enough property for them to get out in these conditions & not have to face mud!

We want to send a heartfelt thank you to all who came out for a ride today & had to wait! We strive to give all of our customers the best service . When some of our customers face unexpected circumstances, such as a traffic accident or road work. We all understand here how things happen, and we never want to short anyone. We strive to give everyone what they are paying for. Whether it’s an hour long trail ride or an advanced 1 1/2 hr, to a private. So to those who had to wait for their original time today we hope y’all can understand what others had to face to get out & enjoy themselves ♥️🧡💛

Howdy friends! With the weather changing and trail rides slowing down we have some openings for some lessons popping up. We have a few instructors with varying schedules and can typically accommodate after school hours or even some day time lessons during the week.
Speaking for myself, my schedule is currently Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I am looking specifically to add more children to a beginner group lesson I have started on Mondays at 430, it would be for kids ages 8-10. If anyone is interested and would like to inquire about different days and times please feel free to reach out. You can comment here or send us a message. We have a large, well lit indoor for those of you that can’t make it out until after dark. We look forward to hearing from you! ~Cassie

i was told to send a message to you in regards to reservation. Please check your message and let me know, thank you.
For those walking the Nashoba Watershed trails, because of the orders of social distancing, I encourage hikers to treat the trail loop around the lake as a one way trail counter clockwise. Please do not congregate and stay 6 feet distance between you and other people. Wear a facial mask. Trails are as of now open 8am-7:30pm. Trail around Kennedy pond is one-way counter clockwise.
I highly recommend this farm to my girlfriend Sandra Marie!!!
what is the cost for a ride ? and can kids ages 11 and 14 do it ? Thanks
Do you all still do any horse sales?
Kind of worrying, last week it was bees that kept from riding last weekend now it’s about employee shortage. Hope this isn’t an indication that Bobby’s ranch is closing.
Hope the horses get a lot of water. Didn’t bother riding this weekend due to 100 degree weather with high humidity.
Petition: Tell Acton, Westford and Littleton that motor vehicles need to be banned from the conservation area. These four wheeler ATVs, dirt bikes, and motorcycles do not mix with horses and other people. They also rip trails apart and is bad for the environment as well as frighten the horses. However an exception to the ban will be for trail maintenance (Debris clearing, menure removal, bridgework and construction), DCR, and cleanup work.
The best ranch around! Cant wait to visit again in the Fall.
I always have people asking where they can rent horses. I'll send them your way.
