If you know us, you know that Avenue117 & FizzFactory is more than just a candy store. We’re a little bit of nostalgia, a little bit of adventure, and a whole lot of fun … from freeze-dried favorites and retro candy to international treats, dirty sodas, and mocktails. 🍭🥤✨

But behind all the colorful candy and crazy drinks is something that isn’t always as fun or glamorous…

Owning a small business is HARD.

There are the incredible highs — watching people light up when they find a candy they haven’t seen since they were a kid, introducing someone to a new international treat, creating a drink that becomes their new favorite, or seeing families make us part of their traditions.

And then there are the lows.

The long days. The late nights. The endless decisions. The unexpected expenses. The moments when you wonder if you’re doing enough. The stress that comes with putting your heart, time, energy, and money into something you believe in.

But then something small happens…

A kid walks out holding their favorite candy with the biggest smile. ❤️
Someone comes back and says, “We told everyone about you!”
Someone sends a friend through our doors.
A regular walks in and we already know their drink order.
We hear, “I used to eat this when I was growing up!”
Or we watch someone try something completely new and absolutely love it.

Those little moments are EVERYTHING.

They remind us that we aren't just selling candy and drinks. We're creating memories. We're giving people a reason to smile. We're bringing back a little nostalgia and creating new traditions along the way.

So this award means more to us than we can put into words.
