The post fest check out happened again this year. It’s busy season here with the end of August and beginning of September requiring that harvests be preserved for the seasons to come. Things are fermenting in cupboards and being frozen and dried as I type. Our favorite time of year! The weeds are out of control, time is sacred and the eating is at its peak.

From the bottom of our boots, thank you!! We had over 100 people show up on a rainy summer day to celebrate community, art and good food with us! It was a hard call whether or not to host the rain, but as our breakfast roasts in the oven this morning, we’re glad we did. We’re grateful for the kin we’ve made in this little town of ours, and for those who traveled in to join us.

While the field won’t look like this tonight, we’re committing to the bit and White Lake Honey Fest! is ON! You will still be able to stock up on honey, listen to music and check out most of the vendors we’ve featured over the last few months.

Come prepared! Bring what you need to have a good time! This is us testing out our claim of being “all weather people”. No bad weather, just bad gear? Anyway! We’ll be here, hope you will be too!

We didn’t mean to keep you waiting to reveal the music lineup for this tomorrow at White Lake Honey Fest!, but it feels good to know you’re in for a treat! The music will begin at 7pm with the radiant Nina Sofia. She will be followed by a talented combination of Loren Kranz, Eric William-Neil Engblade, Justin Avdek, and Dutcher Wright Snedeker who will be performing both original music and some well loved covers. Plan to bring a chair or picnic blanket and stay awhile! We will make the final rain call tomorrow morning, stay tuned!

Yoga in the woods! New this year, yoga will be in a separate area for shade and a more cozy feeling. Yoga will begin around 5pm led by one of our favorites, Lauren!

The third of our final vendor features today is Ashten! Ashten has been to White Lake Honey Fest! before and when I saw her at the market, I had to ask if she might bring her magic this year. An exciting addition, Ashten will be bringing fresh juice! Specifically: Watermelon Refresher, Cantaloupe Refresher, Blueberry Lemonade (sweetened with honey). When we asked what inspires her work this is what she said: “Every drink starts with what's in season. One of our favorite things about living in Michigan is getting to experience each season through the incredible fruits grown right here. From the first sweet strawberries of spring to the crisp apples of fall, we let the harvest inspire what we create. When you take a sip of one of our drinks, you're tasting more than fresh fruit. You're experiencing a little piece of Michigan's harvest season.” We’re pumped about the opportunity to get a delicious fun beverage! Hope you are too!

Meghan is the second of our three final vendor features today! A third year for Meghan, you may recognize Sunbean Threads! Meghan has an impeccable eye for thrifted and pre loved clothing and her collection is always worth peeling through. She started Sunbean Threads after diving deeper into the world of fast fashion and seeing its effects on the planet. Meghan said she is inspired “by her love for nature and Mother Earth”.
