I just wanted to give a shout-out to a few of our Chicks and Chaps members who will be heading to the Big E this weekend to represent Plymouth County 4-H
in a couple of very special events!! 🍀

On Saturday, Ella Hathaway and Sasha Caldeira will have the opportunity to present their visual presentations from this past 4-H year. They were both selected at the state finals for this honor! Ella will present her VP on Surrogate Sea Otters and Sasha will present her VP on Fostering Rescue Cats and Kittens. We know they will make us proud and shine like the stars that they are! ⭐️⭐️

On Sunday, Lillian and Mallory will show several of our bunnies at the first ever 4-H rabbit show at the Big E! 🐰 This is a very exciting development as the 4-H Big E shows have historically been geared towards larger livestock! The girls have entered their bunnies in breed classes and the girls will also compete in rabbit showmanship. So exciting!!

Way to go, everyone!! We shall report back next week on how everything went!! 🤗🍀

Phew! That’s a wrap on the 2026 Marshfield Fair! 🍀 It has been quite a whirlwind these past few days! We picked up our animals from the fair and cleaned out our pens on Monday and within a day or two several of our club members were back to school! 😅

I’m finally having a moment to take a breath and share the many accomplishments of our amazing Chicks & Chaps club members as presented during the 4-H awards ceremony on the last day of the fair. I could not be more proud—not only for all that our kiddos accomplished during the fair, but for how they celebrated each and every award recipient at the ceremony. The way they smiled and cheered for everyone with genuine happiness and excitement is a testament to who we are as a club and to how the families in our club are raising their children. ❤️

All of our club members were winners at this fair whether they received a specific award or not. We had several kids showing for the very first time this year and they all embraced the experience and put a great deal of care and effort into their animals and their projects. 👏🏻🍀❤️

Overall High Point Award for Rabbit Achievement: Hazel Hathaway

The Crystal Ball Goat Award: Camille Gill

The Communicator for Ag award: Mallory Wall

The Gentle Hands Award: Sasha Caldeira

An additional award that was very special to me this year was a group Herdsmanship award I sponsored in memory of my Dad. I could not have been happier that the Mancuso Family was the first ever recipient of the William “Bill” Gregonis Group Herdsmanship Award. The Mancuso kids live the 4-H pledge every day and are always willing to lend a hand and share their knowledge. They were so deserving of this award and I know my Dad was smiling down on all of us as they received the award. ❤️🙏🏻🍀

Huge congratulations, my friends!!! I can hardly wait to see what the new year of 4-H has in store for Chicks & Chaps!! The sky’s the limit for our incredible kiddos!! 🙌🏻🍀❤️

We have been busy with last minute training and practicing in preparation for the fair! I am so proud of all of our Chicks and Chaps members for all of their hard work throughout the year and I can’t wait to see them all shine at the fair!! 🌟🐐🐰🍀

Today was Clean-Up Day at the fairgrounds, and that is always when it gets real!!! Stay tuned for fair updates starting on the 20th!!

☘️🇨🇮It was a beautiful day for a belated St. Paddy’s Day parade!🇨🇮☘️

Our club had a great day participating in the Abington St. Patrick’s Day parade today! Our float was truly a group effort and we were so proud of how it came out! As always—our float wouldn’t be complete without some goats, bunnies, dogs and even a chicken in a purse this year! 🤣🐐🐇🦮🐓 Our club is very fortunate to have kids and adults who are very giving of their time and talents and always make sure we are stocked with snacks and candy along the parade route as well!

Special thanks to Jacob Brummett for allowing us to use his trailer and shout out to Mike for driving the trailer on the parade route!

👏🏻🍀Yesterday was another great day for Chicks and Chaps!🍀👏🏻

The five members from our club who were invited to take part in the Visual Presentation competition at the state level all received either a Grand or Reserve Champion rosette in their chosen category!! 🎉👏🏻🤗🥇

I could not be more proud of them and of all of our members this year who embraced the opportunity to prepare and present a visual presentation! For many, this was something out of their comfort zones, but they took on the challenge with determination and passion!

I love our group so much and I know this is just the beginning on VP success stories! The sky’s the limit, kiddos! I can’t wait to see what next year brings!!! Way to go, everyone!!! 🍀❤️👏🏻🎉
