It Takes Two Farm

ittakestwofarm.com/signup It Takes Two Farm started as a dream. It was also my desire to offer a “different” type of therapeutic activity.

I envisioned that one day I could offer my horses, share my knowledge and pass on my experience to those interested in learning about horses. Making this dream a reality would not have been possible with out the support of my parents, children and friends. Over the years many clients have asked about how the farm was named and what the name means. There are really three parts to the answer. First,

I once had a horse named “It Takes Two”, Twoey, who was a great companion and an inspiration. There is a beautiful painting of him (with Arissa) that hangs in the classroom. Secondly, it takes two, both a horse and a rider working together as a team to form a successful partnership. Thirdly, it takes two to have a conversation, it takes two to have a successful relationship of any kind, it takes two people working together to accomplish goals and overcome obstacles. From a therapeutic perspective it is this intertwining of two beings that creates a unique opportunity for comfort, growth, peace and joy. All that is offered at It Takes Two Farm comes from my heart and it is my desire to provide a positive experience to all who enter. Crystal

Today was about as good a day as possible in my little world. Rode with a friend this morning (haven’t really ridden since May when I broke my wrist) to get ready for my instructor update clinic next month! Yikes ….its coming right up! Felt so good to do more than a walk❤️ Good ol’ Pete is perfect to get back in the swing of things.

🐴 OPENINGS AVAILABLE IN BOTH GROUPS🐴

We currently have openings in both our Monday (1 spot) and Tuesday (4 spots) Homeschool Horsemanship groups for ages 5–7!

One of our kiddos switched days, which opened a spot in our Tuesday group, and we also have room in our Monday session.

This 6-week program is a fun, hands-on introduction to horses where kids will get to do so much more than just ride. We’ll work on grooming, leading, horse care, safe handling, riding, and learning how to be comfortable and confident around horses.

✨ Monday Group
Sept. 14, 21, 28 & Oct. 5, 12, 19
11:00–12:00

✨ Tuesday Group
Sept. 15, 22, 29 & Oct. 6, 13, 20
1:30–2:30

Fee: $225 for the 6-week session

No prior horse experience is needed. These groups are designed to be small so each child gets plenty of hands-on time with the horses in a safe, encouraging environment.

If your little horse lover has been asking to spend more time at the barn, this is a great place to start. ❤️

🐴 Beyond the Lead Rope: A 6-Week Groundwork Connection Series

I have received a lot of interest in a groundwork class, so I am excited to offer our first six-week session!

Groundwork is so much more than moving a horse’s feet. It helps us understand the horse we are working with, become more aware of our own body language and discover just how in tune we are with one another.

Throughout the series, we will work on skills such as backing, turns on the forehand, moving the shoulders and hindquarters, sideways movement and connected leading. As we progress, we will focus on refining our cues, becoming lighter with our asks and helping our horses respond with greater softness and ease. We will even work toward leading with less—and eventually no—physical connection to the horse.

This class is for participants age 12+ who already have some horse experience and would like to strengthen their communication, feel and partnership from the ground.

📅 Saturdays: September 12 & 19 and October 3, 10, 17 & 24
⏰ 10:30–11:30 a.m.
💲 $150 for the complete six-week series

Please note that we will not meet September 26

Space will be limited. Sign up here:
