Cabernet Franc fans, this one’s for you! 🍷

Join us for a rare 7-pour vertical tasting exploring six vintages of Prohibition Cellars Cabernet Franc from 2018–2023.

This special flight includes multiple sold-out library vintages, along with a side-by-side comparison of our 2021 Les Collines Vineyard and Kiona Vineyard Cabernet Francs—a comparison that’s no longer possible from current releases.

Tasted together, these wines offer a unique opportunity to explore how vineyard source, vintage variation, and bottle age shape Cabernet Franc over time.

Long considered a supporting player in Bordeaux blends, Cabernet Franc has emerged as a standout varietal in its own right, earning passionate fans and growing recognition among wine lovers. This is the first time we’ve opened these vintages together in a guided vertical format.

At Prohibition Cellars, we believe great wine starts in the vineyard.

Join winemaker Sandor in Tacoma this Sunday for a guided tasting and conversation focused on Les Collines Vineyard—one of Washington’s most distinctive vineyard sites and home to many of our favorite wines.

Together, we’ll taste five wines from this remarkable vineyard, including four single-varietal wines and one blend, while exploring its history, unique growing conditions, and how vineyard site shapes what ends up in your glass. The lineup also includes our previously sold-out 2022 Petit Verdot—a rare opportunity to taste one of our most limited varietal bottlings.

Flight Includes:
• Sparkling Cabernet Franc
• 2021 Syrah
• 2023 Malbec
• 2022 Petit Verdot
• 2022 My Way Red Blend

From site selection and farming decisions to the way different varieties express themselves, we’ll take a deep dive into what makes this vineyard so special.

Have questions you’ve always wanted to ask a winemaker? Bring them along too—we love talking about this stuff.

We can’t believe it’s June already! School’s almost out, graduations are in full swing, and summer is definitely in the air. There are a few things we’re especially excited about this month:

🍹 Summer cocktails are back!

The Hugo Spritz returns by popular demand, and we’re introducing a new favorite for the summer: the Roséade — our rosé topped with effervescent lemon Pellegrino and served over ice. Simple, refreshing, and perfect for summer.

🍷 Thursday Happy Hour is here!
Available all day at both tasting rooms.

Every Thursday enjoy a featured white for $9/glass and a featured red for $12/glass, plus $10 off bottles of both wines.

For our first Thursday Happy Hour, we’ll be pouring our 2023 Sauvignon Blanc and 2022 The Untouchables red blend at both locations. Stop in for a glass or take home a bottle. Club discounts still apply!

Beyond that, we’ll have live music, library tastings, vineyard talks, yoga, and plenty of reasons to spend a little more time with us this month. Scroll through to see everything we have planned and reserve your spot for any upcoming events through the link in bio.

Anyone else have this song stuck in their head after a terrific long weekend?

If getting back to adulting feels a little rough today, we can help with that. 🍷

We’ll pour through it together.

Who’s heading to wine country this Memorial Day weekend? 🍷🏍️

Sandor and I are taking the motorcycle out to explore a part of Washington wine country we still haven’t properly discovered yet — the Columbia Gorge AVA.

Before this weekend’s ride, we just had to share the first photo: Sandor’s grandmother in Hungary back in the 1940s. She was tougher and cooler than both of us combined, rode motorcycles that barely fit her, worked vineyards alongside Sandor’s grandfather, and lived long enough to see her grandson become a winemaker himself. She was a total vibe.

If you’ve spent time in the Columbia Gorge wine region, we’d love to get your recommendations:
Where should we stop?
Wineries, food, scenic roads, hidden gems — send them all our way.

And if your Memorial Day weekend adventures keep you closer to the Puget Sound, come see us at Prohibition Cellars:

🍷 Tacoma will be pouring the special 2021 library red flight all weekend.
🍷 Woodinville still has a ton of tank samples before next week’s bottling: Cabernet Sauvignon (3 vineyards), Cab Franc (2 vineyards), Merlot, Syrah, Malbec, and Tannat.

Whether you’re heading across the state or just looking for a little adventure nearby, Washington wine country has a lot to explore.

Tacoma Tuesday ☀️

Memorial Day weekend is coming up, and if you don’t have plans (or don’t want to spend a fortune traveling), Tacoma honestly makes for a great local getaway.

You can build an entire day around downtown without driving all over the place: wine, farmers markets, museums, waterfront walks, food, live music, and plenty of cool things to explore.

And this Thursday is Third Thursday in Tacoma — which means extended museum hours and free admission at several museums, including , , , and .

A pretty solid Third Thursday in Tacoma could look like this:
• Check out Tacoma Farmers Market and grab a bite
• Head to the museums later in the afternoon for Third Thursday free admission hours
• Have a glass with us and take a bottle to dinner
• Grab dinner downtown

And if “museum day” sounds boring, Tacoma’s museums are anything but: live glass-blowing demonstrations, race cars, interactive exhibits, fascinating regional history, and some impressive spaces all within walking distance downtown.

And don’t forget about either, with waterfront views, old-growth forest, beaches, an incredible zoo, and amazing views of Puget Sound and Mount Rainier on clear days.

This is just a reminder that you don’t have to go far to do something memorable.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting Mike Sauer, owner and manager of Red Willow Vineyard, along with Marcia, to taste through the 2024 vintage of our Red Willow fruit.

It’s always such a great time sharing our wines with the grape growers, seeing them as they experience our expression of their fruit, talking about vintages past and present, and simply enjoying wine together. We showed them the upcoming Lemberger barrel sample we’ll be featuring in our tasting rooms tomorrow, along with our Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve and Tannat.

With bottling around the corner, we’ll be sharing these and some other pretty special samples on tap in Woodinville this weekend when you visit.

Current samples include:
• Red Willow Tannat
• Les Collines Syrah
• Les Collines Malbec
• Les Collines Cab Franc
• Kiona Cab Franc
• The Untouchables Bordeaux-style blend
• All three single-vineyard Cabernets (Red Mountain, Red Willow, and Hatchet)
• Plus a Merlot blend

Go check out our stories for a look at the color on that 2024 Tannat! 🍷

We’ve also decided to feature a special library red flight built around the 2021 vintage — one of the warmest and most concentrated vintages in recent memory. The late-June heat dome produced small berries, deep color, firm tannins, and intensely structured wines with serious aging potential, especially for Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah.

For this week only, the Woodinville red flight will include:

2021 Red Willow Cabernet Sauvignon
2021 Merlot
2021 Les Collines Syrah
2021 Heart of the Hill Petite Sirah

At nearly five years old, these wines are entering a beautiful stage — where youthful fruit and developed character start meeting in the middle.
