Delicious!
Donkermaan has become one of the wines that helps people understand what we love about old vine Chenin Blanc.
From a Helderberg vineyard planted in 1984, it gives us concentration without needing heavy oak, and depth without needing to be pushed too far in the cellar. There’s lemon, stone fruit, honeyed detail and firm acidity, but more than anything there is a structure to the wine that we have come to recognise from this site, and we’re proud every time this bottle finds its way into someone’s glass.
