• Here's something you may not know..

At Murray View Brangus, 'Coastal bred, Coastal raised' is about as literal as it gets.

Our cattle graze country bordered by mangroves and salt water. The coast isn’t somewhere in the distance, it’s their paddock boundary.

Our 2026 sale draft have already lived through more than 5 METRES of rain in their lifetime.

But coastal conditions aren't just about rainfall.

Our cattle are expected to handle both ends of the scale, from extreme rain, flooding and waterlogged country, to periods where things can turn remarkably dry very quickly.

Then there’s the North Queensland heat and humidity, along with relentless tick, fly and parasite pressure. We haven't had a frost in two years to help knock that fly pressure back.

These cattle are bred, born and raised amongst it all.

• Our hearts are incredibly full after Wowan Show. This one means just that little bit more to our family, with Wowan being Dave’s hometown show. To come back to a place that holds so many memories for him and walk away with these results with cattle we have bred, raised and put so much of ourselves into makes it incredibly special.

• It means so much to our family to support the Wowan Show Horse Section and the Margaret Campbell Memorial Trophy, in loving memory of our beautiful Marg 🕊

Horses were Margs life. They brought her so much happiness, and we know she will be looking down today with the biggest smile, incredibly proud of every person who saddled up and rode into that ring.

We wish more than anything she could have been there to share in a day filled with something she loved so dearly. Seeing the horses, the riders and her name carried on through this trophy makes us feel that, in her own special way, Marg is still very much a part of today.

Forever loved, deeply missed, and always with us •

• This is what it’s all about for us!

Giving these kids the opportunity to get hands on with cattle, step into the show ring, learn new skills and experience an industry they may one day choose to build a future in.

For some, this may simply become a great memory from their school years. For others, it could be the beginning of a lifelong involvement in the beef industry, whether that’s showing, breeding, judging, working with cattle or a career they haven’t even discovered yet.

We’re incredibly proud to be able to provide our cattle, knowledge and support to the students at Calen District State College and help open a few doors for the next generation.

The ribbons are wonderful, but seeing their confidence grow, their skills develop and their passion for cattle come alive is the real reward.

Who knows where these opportunities might take them •

• A milestone moment for Murray View Brangus.

• Some moments have a way of stopping you in your tracks.

Yesterday was one of those moments. Watching a gentle heifer quietly look after her young handler was a beautiful reminder of why we do this.

A heifer matching his pace. Standing quietly by his side. Patient, calm and completely trustworthy. Looking after her little handler every step of the way.

It's in moments like these that you realise these animals give us so much more than success in the ring. They teach patience, kindness, trust and confidence. They help shape young people in ways that can't be measured or judged.

Long after the sashes have faded and the trophies have collected dust, these are the memories our children will carry with them.

This is the heart of showing cattle. And to us, it will always mean far more than anything a judge could ever place •
