Our June Apothecary Cocktails and Craft - Candle Making with Richmond Botanicals Co. Event is featured in The Hobart Magazine's What's on calendar for the Off-Season this month.
We are excited to be collaborating with the wonderful team at Richmond Botanical Co, and there are still some tickets left via our website.

OUT NOW: It’s day one of winter and The Hobart Magazine is hitting the streets. We think this front cover scene loudly says winter - rugged up in winter finery exploring the Tasmania coastline under a moody sky. Our cover story this month features the creative duo Elle-May and Christian Watson, the artists behind Mr Skelly (1924 and Ellemaywatson). We learnt more about how Mr Skelly came into the world and amassed more than 8 million social followers😱, and why the skeleton should be beyond the realm of Halloween. We also feature a very handy and timely guide to winter in Discover Tasmania in collaboration with Tourism Tasmania for the Off Season, ahead of school holidays. And if that wasn’t enough, we also caught up with NBL basketballer Luke Rosendale who is in Tassie playing for the Hobart Chargers, and with Cassandra Charlick about her upcoming Festival of Voices show. When the skies turn from blue to grey and the nights get chilly, it’s time for whisky 🥃

Excited to announce not one, but two new Killara Single Malt Whiskies now available online and through our cellar door.

Our annually anticipated Dark M**o Whisky sees a spin on previous DM releases, this time spending three years in an ex-rum barrel before being finished in a PX sherry barrel for 12 months. Also new this year, we’ve done 46 bottles at cask strength, bottling the rest at a very drinkable 43.3%

Our second release spent over four years in an ex organic bourbon cask. This one is a staff favourite and is delicious!

Our second Apothecary Cocktails and Craft Event is on Sunday, the 7th of June, just before Dark M**o begins, and we are excited to be collaborating with the wonderful .co team for this one. Fiona and Mark will be guiding guests through their candle-making process, alongside a full tasting of the Apothecary gin and liqueur range.

We are looking forward to this chance to pause and breathe (beautiful Richmond Botanical candle scents) before the fun and wild ride of Winter Feast begins. And with a seasonal Apothecary Garden-To-Glass cocktail and the option to add a delicious cheese platter from and additional candle when you purchase your ticket, you can make a crafternoon of it.

We have almost sold half of the tickets, though there is still a chance to get your seat at the candle-making table.

Looking for something different to give mum this Mother’s Day? The Killara team have you covered with a few different experiences available over the Mother’s Day Weekend.

Join us Friday the 8th of May for our monthly Friday Night Event, with delicious food available from Taco Taco, free live music, and of course, delightful Apothecary cocktails and Killara Whisky.

Alternatively, our first Apothecary Cocktails and Craft Event for the Off-Season campaign this year is on Mother’s Day. Bring mum along, or spoil yourself, and learn the magic of printing with natural inks using stencils taken directly from the Apothecary Garden, along with some other methods. Let your creativity run wild, craft your own unique stationery set, and write a letter to yourself that we will post at the end of the year. Siobhan will also have a way to honour those we miss.

There are also a number of Distillery experiences available, including our Apothecary Gin Blending experience that runs every Saturday.

Inspired by the Samhain themes of introspection, intention-setting and connection, the Killara Team have conjured up an afternoon to provide a chance to stop, pause and reflect, with crafts that will help you connect to nature and build community.

Beginning with a guided tasting experience, you will then learn about the beauty of natural dyes and inks that have been made using botanicals grown on-site. Using various methods, you will create your own hand-crafted stationery sets to bring the thoughtful and personal art of letter-writing back into your life.

A seasonal garden-to-glass cocktail will be available to purchase along with other Killara faves.

Killara Distillery will be joining us at the Queensland Whisky Expo 2026.

Starting just in time for Valentine’s Day, our newest Killara Distillery Experience gives you the opportunity to become the master gin blender.

We start with a seasonal cocktail to enjoy as you explore our Apothecary garden on a guided tour, beginning a full sensory experience of the botanicals you will discover during your gin-blending journey.
From there, you will be led through an abridged history of gin and gin-making, before starting your own gin-blending experiments under our guidance, while enjoying another seasonal cocktail.
Once your personalised blend has been perfected, we will assist to bring your gin to life, upsizing to a 500ml take-home bottle before selecting the perfectly paired garnishes to create your ideal G&T.

And with many of the distilled botanicals having come straight from our Apothecary Garden, this is a true Garden-to-Glass masterclass.

The latest batch of the 100% TAS Apothecary Gin is now available on our online store and through the cellar door.

As seen in our stories, this fruity and floral gin featured in our seasonal cocktail, the 100% TAS Gin Apple Spritz, perfect for the hot summer days.

This very special gin continues to highlight the Garden-to-Glass journey of Killara Distillery, distilled with intention, with all Tasmanian ingredients, including botanicals from the Apothecary Garden.

Along with having fun with some summer-inspired cocktails, we also love this one with a light tonic 🍹🪻

We will have this delicious gin at our stall for the Gin-uary Festival this weekend, so come say hello and give it a try 🍸
