The joys of the harvest show up all season long when farming and growing what you love. This weekend of Thanksgiving is an extra special time of the year to connect and celebrate all of life’s gifts and offerings that show up in various forms and energies all year long.

We are grateful for the land we grow on.

We are grateful for the soil we grow in.

We are grateful for the ecosystem we are apart of and all the life that is gardening with us in the gardens.

We are deeply grateful for every single person that has come to our table during one of our market days, visited our farmstead or corresponded with us online.

We love growing and creating with colour and are blessed to be able to share it all with our community.

Grateful that we still have a fresh flower harvest for Thanksgiving weekend! You just never know at this time of year if there will be a hard frost that ends the fresh season quickly. So much to be grateful for this season!

This weekend we will have fresh flowers in pumpkins, dried florals, natural dye products, and farmstead soap available.

Find us at the last outdoor Almonte Farmers Market Saturday from 8:30am to 12:30pm.

On Sunday, we will be Ecotay Weddings, Events, & Farm Stays from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

Another beautiful day for the Almonte Farmers Market and could be the last of the fresh flowers for the season depending on the colder nights this coming week!

We have also start creating our dried florals - vibrant and full of colour that last a long time.

This wooly crew is so special to our farmstead. They each have their own personality, their own look, their own wool, the way it feels. We are so grateful everyday that we get to take care of them, massage them, and enjoy them.

The soil is also enjoying their presence. This fall we are adding their sheep bedding from last winter to our kitchen garden beds and some of the field garden beds.

Sheep are so incredible transforming grass into wool for us to cherish, create with, use and wear in a range of uses and industries, all while providing nutrients to the soil food web while grazing.

Reflecting on summer as the fall freshness enters the air. The gardens were and still are full of colour and loved all the rain this season brought. We are so grateful for the amazing harvests we have enjoyed gathering and arranging for you every week. A few more weeks to go and then we will be heavy into creating with all the dried florals we have from this growing season as well.

The harvests are getting bigger as the days get shorter. This week we definitely sensed the coolness arriving some nights and who knows when first frost will be here.

We are enjoying the bounty of this year’s growing season of colour and are so excited for all of the creative ways it will be used for future projects.

This here is marigold. A beloved natural dye plant that offers a range of yellows, oranges, and greens.

Colour swatches getting ready. These show samples of the different natural dyes we grow, harvest, dry and then package for you to do your own creative dye projects.

Natural dyes offer so much creativity, discovery and surprise, which is one of the reasons I love them. Connecting with plants for colour, shape and depth has brought such a different experience and relationship with the plants growing around me.

Getting all ready for Almonte Fibrefest this weekend!

We have been busy busy bees preparing for Almonte Fibrefest creating lots colour. Our naturally dyed silk scrunchies will be available in a range of divine colour. So excited to see and meet everyone who comes by our booth this weekend!
