Another day, another sold out product, we’re all sold out of spicy pickled beets! Based on the demand and the feedback we’ll definitely increase the amount of jars we make next year!

We’ll also be delivering to Sherwood Park October 15th and Red Deer on the 16th if anyone in the area is looking for some good stuff!

It’s that time of year again when we finally get to share the fruits of our labour with all you guys! The menu will be released tomorrow night at 7pm MST!

We’ve got some new exciting stuff to try, dill pickle and spicy pickled celery, mild and spicy pickled beets, jalapeño pineapple jelly and much more!

Some tasting notes, the pickled celery is a winner, it stayed nice and crispy and it has extreme celery flavour! We think it’s due to the cellular structure of it, celery absorbs the brine a lot more than a cucumber does. That being said, it absorbs the heat more as well, the hot celery is definitely in the running for the hottest product of the year! There’s limited supply of these and they should go quickly!

We experimented with Carolina Reaper mash in one of our batches of salsa and it resulted in a beautiful salsa with good heat and amazing flavour, probably the best salsa we’ve ever made. It’ll definitely have a permanent spot in future years menus!

Ever try spicy pickled beets? Now’s your chance, limited to 7 1L jars. We’ll be asking for your feedback on these to see if you’d like them on the menu in coming years.

As always to keep it fair the menu is first come first served so get your orders in quickly!

It wasn’t a good Pepper growing season for us so we had to outsource our peppers this year!
4 days…
2 dehydrators running 24 hours a day…
20 pounds of superhot peppers…
Many unintentional pepper sprays…
2.5 litres of superhot powder…
We’re going to rest tomorrow and watch some football!
We are just waiting on late tomatoes to ripen before we make salsa and the menu will be complete!
Sorry but we are not interested in selling any powder at this time.

We’ve been working our buttocks off! So far this year we’ve canned around 12 dozen jars of pickles, 3 dozen jars of beans, 6 dozen jars of candied jalapenos, 6 dozen jars of garlic and drumroll…..NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT!😎😎😎
Spicy canned celery anyone? These will be a great addition to any Caesar! Available in dill pickle flavour and hot dill pickle!

We’ve also added a jalapeño sugar glaze. Brush some of this beautiful stuff on your barbecue at the end of the cook and you’ll get to enjoy some sweet jalapeño heat with your meal!

We’re targeting a menu release for the end of September this year, the tomatoes are late and we’re still picking cucumbers as they become ready! Be patient, the pickles are coming!

Touring around western Canada in pursuit of the best possible ingredients for this year’s offerings! I ended up in Kelvington SK, AKA Canada’s hockey factory and was fortunate enough to get introduced to Darren Sauer who is the driving force behind Dam Good Garlic.

He was kind enough to give me a chance to check out his farm and take a look around! They planted around 10 acres and yielded roughly 12000 lbs of garlic! They also harvested around 1500 lbs of jalapeños plus other varieties of peppers! Check them out for a list of vendors that carry their wares, it’s great stuff! They also ship as well! Big things happening in Northeast Saskatchewan!

We’re super excited to be able to use their garlic in our pickles and beans this year! Now, back to the kitchen!
