This time of year, there’s barely a free spot on a table or counter around here. The garden is coming in, jars are cooling, and there’s always something else waiting to be canned, dried, cured or put away for winter.

It’s a lot of work, but seeing the harvest filling the kitchen makes me incredibly grateful. 🙏🏼

Flax harvest, with quality control on duty 🌾🐾

Grown from seed, pulled by hand, and now drying before the next step: turning these stalks into flax fibre. There’s something pretty amazing about growing a plant that can eventually become linen.

Ruby remains unconvinced.
