Hot Honey Garlic Chicken
For the chicken:
8 boneless chicken thighs cut into bite sized pieces
1 tbsp corn starch
1 egg
Salt to taste
2 pinches of white pepper
For the sauce:
2 tbsp soy sauce
5 cloves garlic finely chopped
1.5 tbsp rice vinegar
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp Hot Honey (Halifax Honey Red Lava edition)
1-2 tbsp water-cornstarch mixture (this didn't make it into the video)
Instructions:
Coat the chicken with the cornstarch, salt, white pepper and a beaten egg
Shallow fry the chicken in batches until both sides are crispy
Set aside on a wire rack
Add all the sauce ingredients to a mixing cup and combine
Remove the excess oil from the pan and add the sauce
Heat on medium heat, keep stirring so the honey doesn't crystallize
When the sauce thickens add the chicken and stir
Top with sesame seeds and serve over rice.
