Come by the Market tomorrow and see an unseasonably tanned Scott with his veggies and fresh tales of adventure. 🥳

Happy King Tide market-goers and sun-lovers alike!

The magic of early spring graces us again - scores of bird songs, the wee sprouts starting to fill the greenhouses, rhubarb beginning its slow but explosive reach, and so many tomato starts that we'll be cursing our current selves come August.

We're welcoming the dirty hands and the sore back muscles that are out of practise during our winter respite - and excitingly gearing up for outdoor markets!

To reiterate from last season, we want to show the appretiation of your appreciation to our appreciation, with even more appreciation. So tomorrow we kick off customer appreciation day (which we'll be honoring once a month) with a 10% discount on all purchases totalling 20 dollars or more.

We've got daffodil bouquets, arugula, mushrooms, and large bags of all your favourite greens - so come get appreciated!!!

See you tomorrow in the Market Square Mall, 8am to 1pm

Well friends, we're back from the Boogie Land (so this sticker called it) and we've got some good news.

Despite the prodigious winter, the Spinach and Lettuce have marched forth and are regrowing heartily in the greenhouses, enough so for attendance at market Peterborough Regional Farmers' Market this weekend with a supply of them for our fair friends. Come down tomorrow (early!) morning, and receive your nutriment as well as an optional hug and/or tale of our adventures!

Hey Folks! --

Putting it lightly; this winter has been a real piece of work.

Since we started growing winter Greens, this is the toughest season we've ever had. Our baby plants are still alive, holding steady through the unrelenting snow and cold, but for the while we think they've wholly earned (and so they are demanding) a respite from harvest.

As such, Leah, who has been an absolute force of nature (against the wintry natural forces) working alone these last 3 weeks, will not be at market tomorrow, but you can wish her well in spirit as she joins me here (the deserter) in Mexico for her similarly earned respite from harvest.

We will be back in March, along with the greens and fresh but ephemeral tans -- thank you all for a great winter season so far!

New Year's resolution --- become as resilient as the winter Greens some day.

Just past solstice, howling wind and minus 20, with an ice storm a few days before, the Salad Greens seem ever convicted in their cause, so much so that stepping (digging) into the greenhouses feels anachronistic, replacing a deep winter in an instant with a cool, bright Spring or Fall day -- a welcome change when it feels like you just moved the rebel base to Hoth despite your distaste for Tauntauns and Yetis

Attention market denizens!

It is with great pleasure that we remind all that tomorrow is the FINAL OUTDOOR MARKET for the 2025 season!

Gone for a time, are the days of burdensome setups, rain, wind, and baking heat, for now we retreat to warm shelter, comforted in respite by the roots and the squashes. Soon snow will fly, but for now we enjoy the gradual autumnal denouement of another well-earned season on the land

Good things take time, and the peppers seem to have taken that adage to heart this year, but can I blame them? Look at these stunning solanaceae's!
