A Lanark County gem!
This Momma’s Kitchen catered a milestone birthday party for my wife, and Jen was excellent every step of the way. From first contact via email, Jen shared her extensive menu for my consideration, made recommendations, helped me decide on food combinations, and provided clear price lists. As the event approached, I needed to add another guest, which Jen accommodated without a second glance; then she suggested a subtle change to one of the appetizers that really boosted that dish as a guest favourite. I appreciated the clarity and simplicity of Jen’s billing system, and, it must be said, the price was reasonable indeed.
Jen had assured me during the planning that, apart from setting the table and providing the dishes, I wouldn’t have to lift a finger with respect to the food; and she exceeded that promise by a mile. She unloaded her equipment and the food, set up shop in the kitchen, prepped the food, and laid out the appies in a hot minute. Once dinner began she discreetly served seconds, cleared plates, poured wine, and generally insisted my wife and I stay in our seats and enjoy the evening. In fact, when I did get up to help clear plates and pour some wine she chided me into letting her continue.
The event was a huge success and came with a considerable number of well-packaged leftovers that we are still enjoying from the freezer weeks later.
I cannot recommend Jen and This Momma’s Kitchen highly enough and will be having them back to cater our next big event.
