Against the approval of his peers and established tradition, he’s taken thousands of years of brewing rituals, mixed it with passion and purpose to produce the Troubled Monk Beer. Attitude and tradition have come together to inspire us to make some of the tastiest handcrafted beer available. Fresh and unfiltered, just like Trouble himself! Continuing in Trouble’s footsteps we aim to produce local, high quality, delicious craft beer right here in Central Alberta.

How heavy were the steins you ask? 🍺💪

For our competition the steins from tipped the scales at 7 lbs holding 5 20oz pints of beer.

Our champs held it at full extension for:
🏆 Men — 3:08
🏆 Women — 2:00

Congrats again to our power couple who took home the prizes and big should out to Next of Kiln for the incredible, handmade steins.

Turns out the best patio guests have four legs. 🐾🍻

A little look at our Dog Days Patio Party and all the very good boys and girls who came out to celebrate International Dog Day with us!

A huge thank you to everyone who brought their pups, grabbed a pint, supported Saving Grace Animal Society, and spent the afternoon on the patio with us. We loved seeing so many familiar faces and meeting a whole lot of new furry ones.

And an extra big thank you to 3 Pink Flamingos, Sealed Up Delights, Saving Grace Animal Society, and Dean Foster for joining us and helping make the afternoon such a special one. 🐶🤎

Every dog has its day, and this Wednesday, it’s happening on the Troubled Monk patio. 🐾🍻

Join us Wednesday, August 26 from 2–6 PM for our Dog Days Patio Party!

🐶 Saving Grace Animal Society will be joining us with adoptable dogs looking for their forever homes
🍦 Sealed Up Delights will be serving up pup cups
🌮 3 Pink Flamingos will be on site with the food truck
🎨 Dean Foster will be drawing dog caricatures from 3–5 PM

We’ll also have our Doggy Donation Menu, where you can purchase items or services for the dogs currently in Saving Grace’s care, it’s a simple way to help make their days a little more comfortable while they wait for their forever families. ❤️

Bring your four-legged best friend, grab a spot on the patio, and come spend the afternoon with us.

We put some arms to the test with our friends at Next of Kiln, who made us some pretty incredible custom beer steins for the occasion.

We had an awesome turnout, plenty of brave contenders, a whole lot of shaking arms, and two seriously impressive winning times:

🍺 Men’s Champion: 3:08
🍺 Women’s Champion: 2:00

And the best part? Our champions are a couple. Apparently the couple that holds steins together, stays together. 😂

Huge thank you to everyone who came out and gave it a go, and to Next of Kiln for helping us make it happen.
