Field Stone Fruit W**es launched in July of 2005, as Alberta’s first estate w**ery. We were the first business to be granted a license under the Government of Alberta’s new cottage w**ery regulations, allowing fruit growers to manufacture and sell fruit w**es. Our family-run w**ery and farm are nestled into 50 acres of mature berry orchards located forty minutes east of Calgary — just outside Strathmore — one of the sunniest regions in Canada. For more than a decade, our popular “U-Pick” Bumbleberry Orchards had been known for its exceptional fruit — harvesting plump, extra-sweet, sun-kissed berries grown using biological farming principles and the best of Mother Nature. Along with our noted world expert w**emaker, Dominic Rivard, we developed our unique w**es from saskatoon berries, strawberries, raspberries, chokecherries, black currants, red cherries and rhubarb into ten succulent and delicate combinations. All Field Stone w**es are made from 100-percent Alberta-grown fruit, 80-percent of which is grown on the w**ery’s own orchard. Since 2006, the w**ery has been distinguished with dozens of awards and medals across its 10 varieties of fruit and dessert w**es from national and international competitions. From orchard to bottle, farm to table, our w**es grew from farmgate and w**ery direct sales to popular Farmers Market mainstays with every w**e we have created being noted with awards.

October is going to be a busy one, and then we’re jumping straight into Christmas market season!

First, a quick reminder if you’re planning a visit to the w**ery:

🍂 OCTOBER W**E SHOP HOURS
Saturday & Sunday | 10 AM–5 PM

Then we’re packing up the w**e and taking Field Stone Fruit W**es on the road!

🎄 The Field Stone W**e Shop will be CLOSED for the entire month of November while we’re out at Holiday markets — but there will be plenty of opportunities to find us along the way.

🍂 THIS THANKSGIVING, WE’RE THANKFUL FOR YOU.❤️

As we head into our second year at Field Stone Fruit W**es, there’s one thing we’re feeling especially grateful for — this incredible community.

This past year has been full of learning, growing, harvesting, making w**e, trying new things and figuring things out as we go. But what has stood out most is how many people have shown up for us.

You’ve visited the w**ery, brought your friends and family, picked berries, helped us in the fields, attended our events, shopped local, shared our posts, offered advice and simply stopped in to say hello.

Every bit of it has meant more to us than you know.

To everyone who has supported Field Stone Fruit W**es and helped us through this first year — THANK YOU. 🍷❤️

Now we’re looking ahead, and we can’t wait to see what Year Two brings!

🍷 THE ULTIMATE THANKSGIVING GATHERING HACK

Need to bring something to Thanksgiving dinner but don’t feel like cooking?

Bring the sangria. 😉

It’s a party pleaser, it’s easy to make, and you get to walk through the door knowing:

✔️ You didn’t have to cook.
✔️ You brought the drinks.
✔️ Everyone’s happy.

We call that a Thanksgiving win. 🍂🍷

This Black Currant Sangria is perfect for fall gatherings and gives you another delicious way to enjoy our October Feature W**e.

🍹 BLACK CURRANT SANGRIA

1 bottle Black Currant Fruit W**e
½ cup Black Currant Dessert W**e
1 cup fresh peaches, sliced
1 cup blackberries
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1½ cups club soda
1 cup orange juice
2 shots Grand Marnier

Mix well and chill for optimum flavour. Add ice just before serving.

Make a pitcher and suddenly you’re the person everyone hopes gets invited again next year. 😂

There’s a different kind of energy around the farm this time of year.

Harvest means busy days, full bins, dirty boots, watching the weather a little too closely — and finally seeing the results of an entire growing season come together.

It’s one of the busiest times of the year at Field Stone, but also one of the most rewarding.

Because around here, harvest isn’t just about bringing in the fruit. It’s the beginning of what eventually ends up in your glass. 🍷
