Goji Green Iced Tea is a crisp, antioxidant-packed beverage that pairs the light, vegetal notes of green tea with the subtle natural sweetness and tangy bite of goji berries. Brightened with fresh lemon and honey, it's a refreshing clean-energy iced drink.
Prep time: 5 mins | Steep time: 10 mins | Servings:
2 glasses
☕ Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp dried goji berries
- 2 green tea bags (or 2 tsp loose-leaf green tea, e.g., Sencha or Dragonwell)
- 2 cups hot water (about 175°F / 80°C — not boiling)
- 1–2 tbsp honey or agave nectar (adjusted to taste)
-1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
-Ice cubes
- Optional garnish: Fresh mint sprigs or extra rehydrated goji berries
🍲 Method:
1.Steep Tea and Goji Berries:Do not use boiling water to avoid bitterness.
Combine the green tea bags and dried goji berries in a heat-proof glass pitcher or jar. Pour $175^\circ\text{F}$ ($80^\circ\text{C}$) water over them.
2.Infuse and Strain:
Let steep for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove the tea bags so the green tea doesn't turn bitter, but leave the goji berries in the liquid for another 5 minutes to rehydrate fully and infuse their natural flavor.
3.Sweeten and Chill:
Stir in the honey (or agave) and fresh lemon juice while the liquid is warm so the sweetener dissolves completely. Strain out the berries (or keep a few for garnish) and let the liquid cool to room temperature, or chill in the fridge.
4.Serve Over Ice:
Fill two tall glasses with ice cubes, pour the chilled tea over top, and garnish with mint sprigs and plump goji berries.
