The gates to SoulTerra Farm have closed for the season but that doesn’t mean that the work has stopped. Preparations are already underway for the new garlic patch, mowing and weeding is happening, and new ideas are spinning in our heads!!

Another season has passed and we are so very thankful for the wonderful community we live in and for all of you who travel to visit our farm! Your support and kindness is greatly received and makes us want to do what we do!

As you continue on this year, please try to support your local farmers as best you can and mark us in your calendar for eggs starting in the Spring and blueberries/garlic in July!

Until then, we will have limited exposure on social media, and we’ll take more time to view this beautiful world around us!

Garlic will still be available but pls call to arrange pickup!

Thank you!!! See you next year!

The gates are closing soon and we are busy as the bees wrapping up the season. Even the squirrels are packing their nuts away! The chickens will be flying the coop so Friday will be our last day for eggs. Eggs will be available at our neighbours Schoene Family Farm! As for garlic, it will be available well into October so mark your calendars to pick some up. If you have trouble keeping it fresh try peeling the cloves and adding to a jar of vinegar. Stays crispy for a year! Contact us by text or call if you’d like to reserve some!

We haven’t shut the gate yet! We still have farm fresh eggs, garlic, and flowers!

If you’re thinking of planting garlic this Fall we have beautiful, large seed garlic. And if you like your garlic hot and spicy for cooking and roasting, we can help out there too!

Wanting to bring a little sunshine indoors, give us a call and we can pick some fresh flowers together. Did you know that if you remove the leaves from marigolds, you also remove the scent that is so strong! They make for a long lasting, bright display!

Don’t keep putting it off, the gate will be closing soon ā˜ŗļø!

Last chance for blueberries. U-pick blueberries open Today (17 Aug) and Tuesday (18 Aug), 8am - 8pm, then the field will close for the 2026 season. We still have some red Russian or chesnok garlic available…don’t keep putting it off, order now!

Our u-pick blueberry season is soon ending. Monday, 17 August, will be our last day (open at 8am) then the Okanagan Fruit Tree Project will help us, once again, to clean the bushes off. It’s been a great year (up until these last couple of weeks with the devastating fires), and we’ve met incredible people. We love the enthusiasm, joy, and good vibes you bring to our farm…and, in some cases, the lovely outfits you come to pick in šŸ˜‰. We will still have some eggs and garlic for the next while.

We are closed this weekend as we celebrate our beautiful Mom’s 97th birthday…and man, can this woman party! Still going strong after all these life adventures…she’s an icon in our eyes and we love her to bits! ā¤ļøšŸŽ‚šŸŽ‰

As the blueberries do continue to ripen, and if you’re local, always feel free to give us a call to see if there’s some available over the next month.

And lastly, please support all the other farms as they push through this season!!

Have a great weekend!

Have you ever wondered if your eggs are still fresh?

The last couple of days we have been missing a few eggs so thought we would go on a bit of an egg hunt. Turns out a couple of chickens flew the coop to see if the grass was greener on the other side of the fence! Chickens like to lay where it’s quiet and private and that is exactly where we found the eggs…amongst some flowers and in a hay bale.

Although I was pretty sure the eggs were fresh I did a fresh egg test. Take your eggs and place them in a glass or bowl and cover them with water. If your egg sinks to the bottom, the egg is fresh. If it floats to the top it is stale and possibly not safe to use. Crack it open and give it a sniff. If it smells rotten, toss it out. If the egg is in between, it’s not sinking, but it has turned upwards and it’s not really floating, then you should still be safe to use that egg but again give it a sniff test. But not to worry, any eggs that we find outside of the coop or we are unsure of, we save for ourselves.

We have a very small supply of eggs, but the farmer down the road Schoene Family Farm has lots and is currently helping another farmer distribute his eggs. So please, support local, especially during these devastating times!!

There is still lots of fruit to pick! Because the crowds are easing up, we have organized with the Okanagan tree fruit project to send in volunteers and help pick what they can over the next day or two. So if you’re wanting to get some blueberries into your freezer you better come over the next few days and get what you can. This is a great organization that provides food to those in need. So happy to be able to help them out.
