I’ve had lots of messages about shop opening times / bespoke orders this week, so posting now to apologise for not being clear :/ I mean, what do you mean you can’t just read my mind?! 😂😂🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Instead of teasing and mucking you around, I have decided that I won’t be open again now until the new shop is all ready to go :)
I have also taken the decision to stop taking bespoke orders of any kind. As most of you know, BKD is a tiny bit of my life and even moving up to the high street won’t change that.
I am primarily a mum, wife, daughter, sister, auntie, friend, nut job, tea fiend, and if the last few years have taught me anything, it’s that you work to live, not live to work!
I have responsibilities, appointments and clinics to taxi people to, people to see, tea to drink ;) and fitting in bespoke orders has often meant I have been up until 4am baking and decorating and my mind and body just cannot handle doing that anymore.
This is also the reason I will be reevaluating all costings, portion sizes and starting to place a higher value on my time from now on.
Did you know that I still charge the same price for a slice of lemon drizzle as I did when we opened Truly in 2020?!!! And how much have ALL ingredients and costs gone up in 6 years?!!!
Don’t panic, you wont need to swap a kidney for a sweet treat, neither shall we be offering teeny tiny portions ;) but I’m determined that this next stage of my business is here to stay, and for that to happen, mamas gotta pay the bills ;)
Anywho, this is a bit of a s**t sandwich 😂😂 so ending on a high; I miss you and can’t wait to show you exactly what we’ve got planned for The Make Space 🖤 Only a few short weeks to go 😍😍😍
