We recently had a meeting with one of our valued customers, Ray Nash at Toby Jug, who shared some serious concerns about the future of the services that help keep our coastline safe.
Those who protect us in our most desperate moments are set to lose the payments they currently receive for training and callouts. While these payments are modest, they help support the incredible commitment these individuals give to our communities. Many fear that removing them will make recruitment and retention even more difficult, putting additional pressure on a service that countless people rely on.
Our coastline is the lifeblood of the South West. It supports our communities, our businesses, and our way of life. But when our loved ones, friends, neighbours, and visitors are not safe by the sea, we all have a reason to care.
As a family-run business, we urge everyone to support this cause and help spread awareness. We have linked below the petition regarding this, it needs 100,000 signatures to be considered for debate in Parliament.
We will also be sharing a letter written by our customer, explaining the seriousness of the situation and why it is so important that we come together to support this cause.
