It was such a fun day! Thanks for blowing the doors of this place, everybody, and supporting local families in your community ❤️

I am blown away by the support from everyone today! We have only ONE loaf of bread left and a few cookies that I was told by my boys who were “in charge” of our pickups today that this is their payment 😉 (I will be adding a batch or two of originals mid-week again this week)

Seriously, THANK YOU all so very much- this little home bakery is really growing and coming to life and it’s because of everyone’s support with coming out to get bread as well as spreading the word. You are all the best!

Also, a HUGE thank you to Abraham and Renee at Salmon Season for inviting me into and sharing their space with me so that I could share my bread with the Appleton/Mackville community! Their children even shared their toys with my boys and I was told they have way better toys than we do 🤣

Since it went so well, I’m planning to do more frequent pop-ups at Salmon Season, likely a couple times a month. Stay tuned as we work out what the schedule will look like there!

We’re gonna bring you back to a young 14 year old version of our daughter Genesis, back in the winter of 2021. BEFORE she put some years working the deck of the F/V Salmon Shark with me up in Alaska. Halibut is getting stocked in the freezer for this weeks opening! You won’t want to miss this one, guys! When it’s gone, it’s gone. We have beautiful 6 oz portions of halibut. Along with the halibut we’ve added our portions of SMOKED Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon to the freezer case as well! It’s gonna be a fun weekend!

Was your ground shaken this week? You just never know what the week will bring!

We had the vet come out to check on the castration of our bull calf. He’s comfortable now back with his Mama. Is he a steer yet? Time will tell. The whole ordeal is a very long story in itself with many mistakes on our end and relationships damaged in the stressful moments when words come out and cannot be taken back. More grace and forgiveness was given in abundance this week. ❤️

It was also time to upgrade our food license to more than prepackaged/certified freezer items and officially get the commercial kitchen in order. When all is said and done, this upgrade of our license, along with the time and some additional equipment needed to run the space properly, is not in the budget at this time. Just not yet. We will continue to work towards that goal, but for now, no salmon chowder or spread will be available at the store. And once again, when a door closes, the Lord opened up a new path. Turns out some of our local fellow vendors would love space in our store fridge for their local qualified, inspected food items. And more collaboration is always more fun!!!

We were complete messes when we began our worship today with the following lyrics to the song Firm Foundation. Such a great reminder of what we should put our trust in. The stuff we have, the systems in place, absolutely not.
