Lye Creek Farm

Lye Creek Farm May 1, 2015 we brought home our first goats Chase and Muffin. They were Pygmy goats raised as pets.

Since then we have evolved in to breeding Commercial & Wether Genetic Boers.

Just a girl and her steer ❤️

This has definitely been a learning experience for our family. Growing up I took Dairy Feeders for 4H but we never finished them out and my husband was not involved in 4H. I love she has chose her last two years to be diverse in species while continuing to raise and show goats.

She got the luck of the draw with this guy! He was a little over 600lbs. when we got him. In 10 short months these large steers are trained to gain your trust, trained to be tied up, trained to walk behind a tractor, trained to be walked by people and trained to set up.
He is so calm except for a few times he got loose or kicked. He has come around to loving attention by having his head scratched, standing to be brushed, cooled off with a cold spray of water and doesn't mind his legs being touched. Getting this guy to walk takes all 3 of us right now and the end result will be just her.

Kids, don't get discouraged when a goat doesn't walk.

We had this dramatic one 2 years ago. When I tell you he wouldn't walk, he.would.not.walk. He did walk when we got to the fair but ONLY in the ring.

This was him acting dramatic because he wanted to be done with everything.
