Come for the invasive species education, stay for a wander in the garden!

Join us this Wednesday from 10am-12pm for the third installment of our Weeding Wednesday series. We’ll talk about conservation in the Cascade-Siskiyous, introduce you to some invasive thistles, and work together to manage them out of our meadow!

No experience necessary, visit https://thecrestatwillowwitt.org/volunteer/ to learn more and sign up. Or just come up to the ranch!

Work will be followed by casual lunchtime and an invitation to wander the gardens or walk the trails.

We’re thrilled to announce Weeding Wednesdays with The Crest at Willow-Witt Ranch! Wednesdays, August 12 - September 16, 10am-12pm with casual lunch afterwards!

This six week work party teaches participants how to identify and manage invasive species at Willow-Witt Ranch, a 40 year conservation project in the heart of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument. Gather together to learn, explore, and practice conservation in community. What exactly does that look like? First, we’re tackling the Canada Thistle!

No experience necessary, all ages welcome! Drop in on Wednesdays as you can, or attend all six events in the series to be a conservation hero and receive a Sunday Afternoons Crest sun cap!

Bring work gloves, sunscreen, water bottles, and a positive attitude. Please leave dogs at home.

Work will be followed by a time to have lunch together. Bring your favorite fuel, Willow-Witt Ranch will provide an organic garden salad to share!

At the peak of summer, garlic has us looking forward to the flavors and feelings of fall.

We grow “Nida” garlic - a strain developed by friend of the farm Dave Baldwin , who named it after a beloved grandmother. Over the years, Nida garlic has evolved to thrive in the challenging conditions here on the ranch.

Want to learn more and see more photos? There will be a link to the full story in our newsletter, coming out later this week.

We’re in our hay-day! It comes but once a year, and it’s hard, sneezy work, but after a long haul we got nearly 12 tons of hay and alfalfa from our friends Fisher Ranch Beef racked and stacked in the loft for the year ahead.

The goats will be happy and so will we! Scroll through to see the finished product and a very accomplished farm crew.
