Dave got me about 95% packed for NEWDGA. Gave the big girls a quickie bath this eve, I’m just going to brush and wipe off the juniors tomorrow instead of another bath. I’m not going to post a pic of the trailer like others are doing because it is old and not pretty. Hopefully I can haul my carcass out of bed at 3:30 and be on the road by 4:30!

Dave clipped some bucks yesterday. This junior was a gorgeous red chamoise with dark brown moonspots, but after clipping his base color is boring pale brown and as usual the moonspots all grew in grey. What’s funny is his back spots have a line of cream going through them on the spine 😂

Five juniors bathed and clipped today! All the show goats are done plus a couple extra. My thanks to friend Marissa for helping today.

Now to start on the bucks and the ones I’d like to move on. But not today.

Between my neighbor, Dave, and I, we bathed and clipped six adult goats yesterday. We got more hair off dry yearling Agape’s Prize Kentucky Rain than we did off of two bigger goats! Her coat wasn’t super long, but VERY thick. Another friend is coming noonish today to help do three juniors, and if we still have energy, some others of the herd even though they’re not going to next weekend’s show.

Well we need this rain but I’m looking forward to the warmer weather starting 6/11 so I can start marathon bathing and clipping!

The does are yelling at me because they think I have control over the weather. Sorry girls. If I did, I would have it rain during the night only so that you could spend all day every day outside.
