FERTILITY AND LONGEVITY MATTER!!!
IS 85% A.I. 1st SERVICE ATTAINABLE?
We hold ourselves to high standards as your genetic supplier, continuously striving for the higher bar. Fertility and longevity in our registered mama cows continue to be convictions of this program because itβs what keeps us in business. In 2024 we were striving for 80% first service conception and squeezing our calving window down to 45 days; cows either reach that bar or leave the ranch. Our registered cows must earn their stay in our program by eating grass, by milking and breeding up, and by raising a big calf with no creep fed; low input for us and expected high output from our cows. After placing extreme pressure on our registered herd, the great cows separate themselves from the good cows. This enhances the conviction, βfertility matters and longevity in the herd pays the bills.β Prolific cows showing true genetic evaluation against each other within the same contemporary group.
In 2024 we shared that our A.I. breed-up = 83% First Service Conception! (Just a side noteβ¦zero opens!)
The management of our registered cows mimics the commercial cows run in our customerβs herds. We will stay true to our convictions so our customerβs programs benefit by enhancing profitability within the cow herd. Our 2025 question wasβ¦Is 85% First Service Conception Attainable?
This year we found out: our 2026 A.I. breed-up was 88%! Fertility and Longevity matter!!! Cows should work for the rancher, rather than, the rancher working for the cows!
