💖 IF YOU GIVE A KID A PIG…
If you give a kid a pig, they'll ask for a brush.
A soft one.
Then a hard one.
Then the exact brand some kid on TikTok swears turns pigs into grand champions overnight.
Once they have the brush, they'll need soap.
Not human soap.
Not dish soap.
No… they'll want the expensive purple stuff that smells like bubblegum and is somehow forty dollars a bottle.
And because they can’t carry all this with their tiny hands, they’ll want a show box.
A big one.
With drawers.
And stickers.
And a they he will lose within twenty minutes.
🐷✨
Then they'll ask ask you to go to the barn.
Every day.
Every night.
After school.
Before homework.
Before your coffee.
You’ll be tired.
You’ll be busy.
But they'll insist with that wild, hopeful kid energy that melts your entire heart.
And you’ll go.
You’ll help them rinse and brush and walk circles in the dirt until the sun goes down.
They'll say there’s still enough light.
They'll say “just a few more laps.”
And you’ll believe him every time.
Before long, the barn won’t be enough.
They'll want to go to a jackpot.
They'll want the crisp show shirt, the starched jeans, the belt buckle they didn’t win yet but swears they will.
They'll get dusty.
They'll get sweaty.
They'll get manure in places no child should ever get manure.
And they'll laugh.
Soon they'll want to learn how to drive pigs like the big kids.
They'll watch videos and practice turns like their training for the livestock Olympics.
They'll talk about top lines and muscle and structural correctness like he’s secretly in vet school.
They'll want friends at the pens.
The late-night arena crew.
The kids who eat concession-stand nachos for breakfast and think electrolytes are a personality trait.
🐽
And then your life changes.
Lazy weekends? Gone.
Laundry? Forever stained.
Your yard? Looks like you abandoned it in 2008.
You’ll haul pigs, panels, gear, snacks, and feral children all over creation.
You’ll spend money you didn’t plan to spend on feed you didn’t plan to buy because apparently this pig needs “just a little more top-shape, Mom.”
Your weekends will be spent in a folding chair, sweating through your clothes, questioning every decision you’ve ever made.
Their weekends will be spent becoming confident, capable, gritty, and proud.
They'll grow.
They'll learn responsibility.
They'll win sometimes.
They'll lose sometimes.
They'll take both like a champ.
And one day…
They'll walk into that show ring and finally place.
Or finally win.
Or finally drive that pig exactly how they've always imagined.
And the look on their face will steal your breath.
Because suddenly…they're not your little kid anymore.
They're a showman.
A competitor.
A young livestock handler who found their purpose in a pile of shavings and a pig that stole their heart.
❤️
And years from now…
They'll realize…
When you gave that kid a pig…
You also gave them a childhood they never forget.
A purpose.
A community.
A dream.
A place to grow brave.
And you’ll hug them.
Your eyes will leak.
And every sacrifice you made will hit you right in the heart.
Because you’ll know without question…
💗 You gave a kid a pig… and it changed everything.
