We had the wonderful opportunity and experience to share and teach about the amazing world of FUNGA! Not only did we get to run walks and mini talks we did it as HOBBITS. We hoped you all enjoyed the mushroom snacks and drinks along with getting inspired to look a little bit closer to the world around us. 🍄

We were invited to partake last evening in Phipps Conservatory for their Nature Talk series in vending some delicious mushrooms desserts, In conjunction with the amazing talk from Barbora Batokova! We hope we were able to complement Barbora’s talk in the 10 Mushrooms You Should Know, and get people excited to eat more fungi! 🍄‍🟫

Thank you to WestmorelandHistoricalSociety for having us out this afternoon before the rains for their First Micro Mushroom Foray! We found a lot of great fungi on the trails, tasted some AMAZING dishes from Chef Shaun, and got down and into our ID with the mushroom savant Stella under the conifers. We hope to catch you next season for an even more packed event. 🍄‍🟫🌱

🍄‍🟫🍄‍🟫🍄‍🟫Our LAST event with WestmorelandHistoricalSociety for the season ends in National Mushroom Month with a MICRO FUNGI FORAY! 🍄‍🟫🍄‍🟫🍄‍🟫 *** Saturday 9/12 under the pavilion at Historic Hanna’s Town in Greensburg, PA starting at 1pm****Make sure to get in on this one it’s going to be full of amazing people to learn from. We have 2 LOCAL SPECIAL GUEST mycology enthusiasts: Shaun Thompson , with Chef Shaun and Stella! We will be foraging Twin Lakes Park for increased fungi finds, learn about how to ID and what types of mushrooms we can eye spy, and then to end it with a real KICK, Chef Shaun will be creating some DELICIOUS 🤤 mushroom dishes for us to taste and enjoy! You won’t want to miss out on this one for National Mushroom Month. 😎🍄‍🟫 🍲

Thank you to Phipps Conservatory for having us for a beautiful mushroom walk in Schenley Park! We found some great fungi and some delicious Grifola frondosa!

Did you miss this walk? Don’t fret because Mushroom Month is abundant! This SATURDAY from 1p-4p we have a real local treat coming up WestmorelandHistoricalSociety at Historic Hanna’s Town! We will have a couple special fungi guests with us….keep your eye out tonight for a later post of what we have coming. 👀

We want to thank WestmorelandHistoricalSociety for allowing us out on the grounds to Forage some beautiful color! Participants learned a little science on what makes color, tricks on how to ID in the field what will give us pigment, and create beautiful on the spot foraged colors.
