Meet Not Bumble! Okay so let's get serious about when you have a bunch of chickens some just get named things out of practicality. This Easter Egger Gang member from looks just like Bumble pretty much just without the crooked toe. That's the main way to tell them apart so in comes Not Bumble, also never had bumblefoot. Meet Digger! Digger got her name well because she loves digging around in the yard and getting bumblefoot. Last year she had dual bumblefoot and this Spring she just had a single bumblefoot. Bumblefoot for folks that aren't familiar with this term is a staph infection in the chicken foot usually caused by a cut getting infected or a piece of debris getting stuck in the foot. Bumblefoot is not fun to treat and many farmers will cull birds with bumblefoot rather than deal with having to treat the issue because it can be tedious to keep the bird separated in a place for the injury to fully heal. Also why Digger is featured in our sunroom in this photo peeking into the house at me. Digger lays larger blue eggs.

Meet Sprinkle, She was a mottled Ancona. I say was because she went missing this past week. She was a character and she spent the entire night outside the coop one night last week. I noticed her out roaming around the run when I went to let everyone else out for the day. She never went in the next night either and hasn't been seen since. Secretly hoping she has a rogue nest somewhere and comes back with babies in a couple of weeks.

Unfortunately this Snow White does not have Seven Dwarves, because I could sure use their help on the farm. Snow came from the same batch of chicks as Talon from in 2022. She is a nosey girl.
