What was your weekly win?

I want to start focusing more on the positives in my life.

I found myself feeling down lately because of all the things that have gone "wrong" and I forget to be thankful for everything going well.

So I am going to try to share weekly wins to focus on the good!

My weekly win (for last week) was baking a cake and making the icing from scratch for our son's first birthday!! It probably seems small to everyone else, but I am proud because it turned out so well despite being last minute and as a bonus... it was dye free!

One of my favorite books is on prime deals and is under $9!

This book starts by summarizing what medicinal herbs are and how to make your own herbal remedies. Then it walks through how to identify, grow, and use specific herbs. There are also a few recipes procide with each herb.

This event was held for family so we could have a practice run and the craft turned out beautifully!

Special thanks to Nan and Paul for helping design, cut, paint, and accessorize the highland craft.

Even my niece who is eight was able to complete it on her own!

I am still trying to figure out how to handle tickets for future events but it is currently looking like we will offer this craft event to the public sometime in July ❤️

I haven't shared much lately because we have been staying plenty busy.

I used to edit, prepare posts, and respond to comments when I was rocking our youngest to bed but recently he has been getting distracted by the light from my phone. So the little time I had to work is gone.

Plus we are into the warmer months which keeps us busy with rotationally grazing our cattle, gardening, and getting warm weather projects completed.

There have been many days lately where I have wished we weren't doing this all alone. Being a first generation farm that is still in its growing stages and not having family to help (especially with 2 little ones), makes for some long days and nights. I don't think I have been to bed any earlier than midnight this week.

And I know I could make it easier by not adding even more to our plate (like buying a bunch of chicks) but Jake and I have never been good about taking it easy.

All that to say, I have been horrible about responding to people's comments and messages. I want to do better but if I am being honest, I am running on low at the moment and need to take it slow so I can recharge. So thank you for giving me grace ❤️
