We are open seasonally in June for Pick-Your-Own Strawberries and in the Fall for our Fall Farm Store, Pumpkin Patch, and Corn Maze! Our 5th generation fruit & vegetable farm has been based in South Schodack, NY since 1921 when the family moved the farm from East Nassau. Until the mid 1960’s, the farm (then known as Spring Valley Dairy) was a fully-functioning bottling plant, selling dairy product

s directly from the farm, as well as through home delivery as the local milkman! Until recently, the farm continued to milk cows, selling the milk to a local cooperative. While we no longer operate as a milking dairy, we now board cows from another local family farm and continue to raise animals on the land that has been home to cattle for over a century. In the 1970’s, our family began focusing more on produce including our popular you-pick strawberries. In the Fall of 2011, we continued to expand the family business with the grand opening of our Farm Store, Corn Maze, & Pumpkin Patch.

There are still some great berries out there to fill your bowls one last time, so hurry up and get here before it’s too late!

We will be open from 8am to 5:30pm today. Berries are $4 a pound, cash or check only. No minimum to pick and no entry or parking fees! Bring your own containers or we have quart baskets to pick in available for purchase.

📣LAST CALL FOR STRAWBERRIES‼️ This Sunday 6/28 will be the last day of our strawberry season!

While much-needed for our other crops, the heavy rain last night was not kind to our strawberry field. There are still some nice berries out there but with the rain damage and the forecasted heat on the way, we don’t anticipate the crop holding up much longer. We wanted to give everyone one last chance to get your fill before the season ends, so we will continue to stay open for the weekend. The berries at this point in the season are on the smaller side, but the little ones are extra sweet and like bite-sized candies!

We will be open today and this weekend, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday June 26th-28th, from 8am to 5:30pm, weather-permitting (we’ll stay open in the rain, but not in a thunderstorm).

💲PRICES: Pick-your-own berries are $4.00 a pound. We have no entry fees and no minimum purchase! We no longer have pre-picked quarts available.
💵 PAYMENT: We ONLY accept CASH OR CHECK! We don’t have electricity at the stand and cell reception can be spotty on the farm, so we cannot take credit/debit cards or Venmo. There are 2 ATMs conveniently located less than a mile and a half away.
👈 WHERE TO GO: Please check in at our stand *BEFORE* heading out into the field so we can explain to you where to go. Please do not enter or cut through any other fields!
🧺 CONTAINERS: We encourage bringing your own containers! All containers must be weighed up at our stand *before* heading out to pick. We also have quart containers available for purchase at the stand.

📣📣 📣 Hurry up and come get your strawberries before it’s too late! Even though the berries are getting a bit smaller, there are still lots of great ones to pick in the fields. Strawberry season is very short to begin with though, and with as busy as we have been this year, our season unfortunately is nearing its end. If you haven't made it here yet this season to pick or are craving that last bowl, be sure to stop by this weekend to get your last fill! 🍓

We plan to stay open ***weather-permitting*** through the weekend (we’ll stay open in the rain, but not in a thunderstorm). Our daily hours are 8am to 5:30pm. We are not sure and cannot guarantee we’ll be open next week, but we will reassess Sunday evening based on how the weather treated us and how picked out we got, and continue to post updates then.

Update for Tuesday, June 23rd:
We are open again for strawberry picking today our usual hours from 8am to 5:30pm (pick your own only, no pre-picked quarts available)! We were thrilled to get over an inch of rain in the storms yesterday, which all of our crops desperately needed. The field is a bit wet after all of that so remember to dress accordingly, and we recommend that any berries picked wet are spread out to dry before storing so they don’t spoil quickly.

Update for Monday morning, June 22nd:
We are open for strawberry picking this morning from 8am until it starts raining later today. The weather forecasts aren’t agreeing on what time that will be, but we will post an update here when that happens. Especially if you are traveling from a distance, it’s a good idea to give us a call before you leave home just in case it is already raining here.

SO. Many. Strawberries!! The picking is really good right now so come get them while they last! We will be open all weekend for pick-your-own berries, 8am to 5:30pm daily (weather-permitting, although the forecast looks beautiful every day ☀️). We unfortunately aren’t likely to have pre-picked quarts available, but if you’re just looking for a few quarts or a bowl for your celebrations, it won’t take you long at all to fill them!

We will be CLOSED TODAY, Thursday June 18th. It’s currently raining and very windy, and the forecast is calling for thunderstorms and gusty winds most of the day, so we have decided to give our fields (and ourselves 😉) a day to rest and soak up the much-needed water. Even if the sky clears up at times later, the fields are already wet from this morning’s rain, and berries that are picked wet retain that moisture and are likely to mold and rot quickly. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding!

We will be open tomorrow morning (Friday the 19th) and all weekend at our usual hours from 8am to 5:30pm!

‼️Apologies for the late notice, but we will be closing early at 5:00pm today (Saturday June 13th) so we can water our very thirsty strawberry plants! 🥵 We didn’t get any of the storms this week that other areas around us had, so all of this heat and wind and lack of rain has made the field very dry. Weather-permitting we will be open tomorrow, Sunday the 14th, our usual hours from 8:00am to 5:30pm. Thank you for your understanding!

The crop is great right now so we encourage everyone to get here as soon as possible, because we never know what plans Mother Nature holds for us in the future, and even on a good year, the season only lasts a precious few weeks!
