Crossed Paths is a wine no one asked for, and yet we had to make it anyway. When Bailey, was experimenting and blending some Malbec and muscadine together, it was instantly a yes. This is what happens when you stop trying to please everyone, stop playing by the old rules and start making something that feels like the truest us.

It is a reverse mullet. Party in the front, business in the back. Muscadine leads with that bright Carolina punch, then the Malbec rolls in with a mushroomy, mossy finish and a little barnyard funk that gives it that signature Botanist edge. It is wild, it is structured, and it somehow makes perfect sense once you taste it.

Try it or don’t cross paths with it. Up to you!

It’s that time again. We’re cracking a few bottles to see who’s ready.

We're doing something new: blending vinifera with muscadine.

A quick preview of "Crossed Paths"

Most winemakers would tell you that's a terrible idea. Vinifera—your Cabernets, your Chardonnays—are the "serious" grapes. The ones that cost real money. Muscadine? That's the thick-skinned, sweet Southern native that gets written off as "cheap" or "too rustic" for fine wine.

But here's the thing: muscadine brings something vinifera can't—an almost wild acidity, this grapey intensity that refuses to be polite. And when you blend it with the structure and elegance of vinifera, you get a wine that shouldn't work on paper but absolutely does in the glass.

It's a little reckless. It breaks the rules. And honestly? That's exactly why we did it.

This isn't wine for people who need a pedigree on the label. This is wine for people who trust their own palate over someone else's approval.

A little wild and a little unexpected.

This is muscadine and blueberries from our spray-free farm at , cofermented into something juicy, electric, and just so us! No compromise. No filler fruit from somewhere else. Just DeFi doing just that, defying the norms.

It's bright. It's unruly. And it'll be ready just in time for Valentine's Day.

This one's all heart.
