The Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋) is one of the most important traditional holidays in the Chinese cultural sphere. Often described as equivalent of Thanksgiving. It is consistently celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th LUNAR month. People celebrate it by eating mooncakes to symbolize family reunion, gathering outdoors to appreciate the full moon while sharing a meal to show the gratitude for the harvest.

While Chinese communities around the world celebrate "mid-autumn" with a rich variety of traditional activities, did you know that many Asian countries celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with their own unique traditions and delicious treats?

🔹Singapore/Malaysia: Carrying lanterns, Dragon Dance, while enjoy mooncakes, moon appreciation outdoor.
🔹 Taiwan: (中秋烤肉) Nationwide Barbecue street parties with neighbors, family and friends (Just like July 4th, a long-wknd holiday), while enjoying mooncakes, tea, and pomelos put on heads. 🍖🌕
🔹 Japan (Jugoya): Welcoming autumn with decorative pampas grass and eating sweet "Tsukimi Dango" (rice dumplings). 🌾🍡
🔹 Korea (Chuseok): A major holiday for family reunions and ancestral rituals, featuring half-moon-shaped rice cakes called "Songpyeon." 🌾🇰🇷
🔹 Vietnam: Celebrated almost like a Children's Festival! Kids carry fish lanterns while listening to the legend of "Cuoi." 🐟🏮
🔹 Thailand (Praying Moon Festival): People pray to Guanyin Bodhisattva and the Eight Immortals, and eat pomelos for good fortune. 🍋
